His thoughts

1163 Words
*Ricky*  I can't help but shake the feeling of Elizabeth. Her company was nice and I want more. I want her by my side through it all. Sitting on the patio watching the stars would be better with her to talk to. Even just to sit with. How can I get her?  "Rebecka is coming to town in the morning. She wants to know if she can stay with us instead of buying a house. She's not too sure about staying here to live yet." Damien interrupts my thoughts.  "Of course, she knows she doesn't have to ask." I replied.  "Still thinking about her? That girl we dropped off on the poor side?" "I can't stop. She's just gorgeous. The attitude on her is amazing and I know she wants to be around more." "What are you going to do?" I didn't answer him. I'm not exactly sure yet.    The next morning came and I didn't get much sleep. Still thinking about that girl. How can a man like me be so stuck on a girl. I didn't think it was possible. I have a business to run. I have priorities and she should not be one. She's married. But I want her. I need her. I must have her. I shower and get dressed then head to the porch to wait for Rebecka. The woman from next door is also out there. She's always waiting to see me. So obsessed with me but not someone I want.  "Did you get a new maid?" She asks me walking over.  "What?" I didn't know who she was talking about. All my staff are the same. Nobody goes in or out of my house without my knowledge.  "There was a girl here yesterday in an old raggedy dress. New maid?" She was talking about Elizabeth.  "Get away from me now." Was all I could say. I can't let her talk about Elizabeth that way.  "But-i-"  "Go".  I don't care what she was going to say, she just needed to get away from me. She gave me a blank stare and walked away. Jeeze. Judgmental ass woman. Shouldn't judge a person by their looks. A car pulls up, Rebecka. I stand up and wait for her to get out.  "Hello brother." Rebecka says with a smile. "I've missed you"  "Hello Becka, I've missed you too. Come in, make yourself at home" I greet her with a smile as well. We may not be close but she's still my little sister. Damien walks out and gives me a nod. Which means it's time to go. Out to run errands and check the business.  "Becka, we will be back, have the chief make you something to eat If you're hungry. We have some business to attend to. "  "I just got here and you're leaving?" She frowns as she says it. Almost as if she's going to start pouting. I hate when she does that. A 22 year old should not pout.  "We will be back as soon as we can" I say then start walking to the car. Damien gives her a hug and follows.     As we start to move Damien asks if we're taking any detours but I haven't thought about that yet. Should I stop to see Elizabeth? I know that's what he meant. I told her I'd see her soon. That I didn't talk about what I wanted. I did in a way though. It's clear she either didn't see what happened in the alley or if she did she isn't going to say anything. That makes me wonder. Does she know what happened? It gives me an excuse to see her.  "We might. I have to find out if she knows anything. She hasn't told me that yet." I replied after a minute of thinking about it.   "Ricky, she's married. It's not right to try to be with someone if they're married. Does she have kids with the man?"  "I honestly don't know. I didn't ask. Let's find that out as well. But first business. The. The business with her and maybe the personal questions". I shouldn't let this woman get to me. I know how bad it can turn. But I don't want to stop trying. There's something inside me saying to fight for her. I don't want to be just her friend. I want to be her husband. But what If she has children? Would that make a difference? It wouldn't to me. I would put them under my wing as If they were my own. Nothing is going to stop me from seeing her. It's only been less then twenty-four hours and I miss her. Nobody has ever made me feel this way. I don't like it. It's not even normal to me. The car comes to a stop, first errand to run is the market. Time to go inside and check our money.  There's a woman standing in line as we walk in, she's in a deep colored dress almost like Elizabeth's style of a dress. She has long brown hair. Like Elizabeth. I walk toward her. She turns around and it's not her, but damn that had my heart racing. Why? Why do I feel this way about a woman I don't know very much? It's impossible. Do I know her from my past? Has she always been with her husband? Has she always been poor? That doesn't matter. What matters is I must have her by my side. As we're walking out Damien looks at me laughs and shakes his head.  "What?" I ask.  "That was Luke's maid that you thought was Elizabeth." He laughed again. Does she really dress that bad and I didn't notice?  "Let's stop at the next store. Right there."  "The dress shop? For Rebecka? I don't think she would like that if we tried to get her a dress. We don't even know her size"  "Not for Rebecka. For Elizabeth. Does she really dress that bad where I thought her style was like a maids?"  "Ricky, she lives on the poor side of town. Her husband doesn't make enough to even buy her a single dress that nice.".  "Yeah I guess so. Let's get one anyway. We can put it in a box and leave it at the door. Just put her name on it. Pay the store to alter it in advance and tell her where to go if it needs to be fixed. Don't put from me. Just her name and where to go."  He doesn't answer. We just go over. There's so many dresses and I don't know where to start. Damien talks to the cashier and they agree for the advanced pay As I'm looking at the dresses I find a very beautiful one. She will love it. I just know it. The dress is a dark purple, with gemstones in the middle of the chest part and down the middle of the dress. Perfect. The store offers the delivery and we accept. It might be the smarter thing to do since I want to see her. Time to finish our errands and head back to our sister.
