A family dinner

We went to get the kids and suprise them when it was time for school to end, they were pretty excited about getting a ride in a nice car. It wasn't every day they got to ride in a car, we mostly walked everywhere. Rebecka and I left the boxes with their new fancy outfits sitting on the table. We wrapped them and put their names on them to make it more exciting. Lillith was the first one to walk in the door and notice the box. Elijah walked right to the kitchen to get a juice so he didn't notice. But once his sister shrieked on excitement, he saw them. Once they opened their box they couldn't wait to try them on so they went to their rooms and put them on. Both kids came down and Rebecka told them how they were going to get the chance to wear them tonight. I wish she wouldn't have said anything yet. I didn't get a chance to even talk to Ben. We still had to wait for him to get home from work and decide what to do. I ended up telling the kids not to get too excited because the final decision was up to their father, and to go change into play clothes to go outside until he did get here. They nodded their heads and went to go change.

"Do you really think he will say no?" Rebecka asked once the kids were out of sight.

"I'm honestly not sure, I just want to make sure before we get their hopes up. I'm actually going to go change for now also. We can sit outside with the kids until Ben gets home. It will probably be a couple hours. Do you want something else to wear for now? So you don't ruin your dress or anything?"

"I actually have a change of clothes in my car, always keep one there. You can never be to sure." She winks and gets up to get her clothes. I head upstairs to change, the kids were already into their play clothes and had their new clothes laid on their beds nice and neat. When I got downstairs Rebecka was changing in the bathroom and the kids were heading outside to the back. They had their juice boxes and snacks already with them so that was one last thing I had to grab. I got Rebecka and I a drink then joined the kids, I was hoping while we were playing the time would fly by faster until Ben got home. I'm not sure how he's going to take all of this, he's not a fancy type of guy.

Ben finally got home a few hours later, he went inside and I asked Rebecka to keep an eye on the kids then went inside to talk to him. He was sitting at the table when I walked in.

"New friend?" he asked.

"That's Rebecka, she's the one who sent the dress to me. Today she bought the kids each a really nice outfit. I didn't make dinner because she wants to take is all out. You'd have to wear your tux, do you want to do that?" I asked half hopeful. He stayed silent for a minute. "I mean, if not I can make you something quick and maybe me and the kids could go with her? I don't want to say no, the kids were pretty excited but she wanted all of us to go" I said to break the silence and maybe he'd give me a damn answer.

"Sure" Was all he said.

"Okay well I'll go tell them so we can all change and get ready. We will be taking Rebecka's car."

"Okay" He replied as he got up and went upstairs, hopefully to change. I went outside to let everyone know and told the kids to clean up quick before they changed into their new clothes. They did as I said and went to their rooms, Rebecka went to the bathroom to change and I headed upstairs. Ben was already in his tux by the time I got to the bedroom. He went downstairs and I put my dress on. After a few minutes all of us were ready and headed out the door. A black car drove by as we were walking outside. Ricky. I couldn't see him but I knew it was him. He won't be there will he? I really hope not. Not while Ben is there. It would be way to awkward for me. The man who wants me, that I also have fantasized about and my husband at the same table? I don't think I could handle it.

We finally arrive at the restaurant and I'm completely over thinking if Ricky will be here or not. It's a really nice place though, everyone in a dress or tuxedo. The staff are all dressed nice, they have food carts for the bigger orders instead of trying to carry everything or make more then one trip. I've never been to a restaurant like this one. Neither have the kids and they are in complete awh. We sit at a table with just enough chairs for the four of us, so no Ricky will not be joining us tonight. I wonder why he drove passed the house? It's been annoying me that I don't know why ever since I saw the car. I know it was him, or someone spying for him. But why? Well his sister has been with me. When he left this morning we were at his house, he probably went home and wanted to know where she was. I can't get his face out of my head. We didn't have to wait long for someone to take our order, we didn't even have to wait long for our food. We were probably only there an hour or so. Rebecka paid, Ben tried to chip in but she wouldn't let him. He kind of pouted afterwards. Almost like his pride was hurt because a woman paid for him. He fought with her a little to pay but Rebecka is to stubborn and holds her ground well. We ended up going back to our house after, the kids went up got changed and did their homework in the living room. Ben went to bed, Rebecka and I also sat in the living room and talked while the kids were busy. It didn't take them long to finish, they brushed their teeth and went to bed. Once everyone was upstairs and away from us Rebecka looks at me and laughs.

"My brother really likes you, and I can honestly see why." She whispered. I didn't know what to say to that so I just laughed. "Well it's getting late, I should head home so you can get to bed." She said after a short silence.

"Okay, call me when your home? I'm going to wait up, just to make sure you made it there. Thank you for tonight it was definitely fun with everyone. Good night." I replied as we walked to the door. I waited to shut the door until she was fully in her car. I don't know why I tell her to be safe, or to call me when she's home. Nobody would mess with her. She's Ricky's sister and nobody ever messes with him. I can't get what she said about Ricky liking me out of my head. I absolutely knew it though. Just by the way he acts.

About a half hour later I get Rebecka's made it home safe call, we only talk for a second then hang up. Finally, bed. I get upstairs an just laid down. The kids and Ben were all sleeping already, it's my turn now.
