" No...you can't do that...you can't kill our child! " She pushes her weak body forward to grab his collar. Her teary eyes rimmed with redness, evidenced to the countless nights she had spent sleepless. To only have him look down at her with coldness. His hands casually rest in his trousers, not bothering to pry her hands off him. " I didn't say anything about killing, princess. " Stepping closer, he continues her till her back touches the cold wall. Her petite figure was under his shadow, right at his mercy. " The child will be born. He will be my legitimate heir but....I have a condition. " Her thudding heart found respite, her child would live. No matter how much this man hated her, she knew he never went back on his words. " I will do anything" She whispers, lowering her eyes in defeat and his hot breath fans her lips, Her fists clench beside her and her heart thumps in her chest. " That you will not be his mother. " His rugged voice whispers in her ear and her eyes shoot up to look at him in shock. Her heart stops in her chest and a part of her soul died listening to it. " No...please no!" Suddenly, her legs couldn't hold her weight and she dropped down near his feet, her trembling fingers clench the material of his trousers in a deadly grip, her knuckles turn white as she looked out in nothingness. " Y-ou can't seperate a mother from a child. No! Aslan please-" " I am doing a favour on our child , princess. Trust me. " Crouching down to her level, he grabs her trembling chin to tilt it up and make her look at him. Her lifeless eyes stared back at him ,but he wasn't done. Not till all the rays of light in those grey orbs abandon her. " I am sure no child wants a slut as a mother. Who can't even keep her legs closed let alone fuc*ing take care of herself and her child" " My child needs a strong woman in his life. Someone who can take care of him. Someone he can look up to. " " Just look at yourself, princess. " He looked down at her with disgust-filled eyes and she wanted to hug herself and escape from his sight. He made her feel worthless. " Do you really think you can be a good mother?" She knew the answer to it but this was her child. She could do anything for him. " No. I will change Aslan. I will be stronger. I will... don't do this... please!" " No one can love my child more than me. He will need me .. please.." She was ready to beg if she had to for her child . He was her last hope in this world. " I..will do whatever you say... don't separate me from my child Aslan..pl...please." " He is my last ..hope in life...the last day of light. " " Don't... don't take him away. I will die without him. " He stood unfazed. Looking bored and she only clutched onto his leg. " Aslan-" " Then die, how would it matter? You died years back for me already." She felt a knife root into her chest, her hands drop down in defeat, a new stream of tears fall down her eyes. " I will give my child a way better mother than you. He won't even remember you. " "You will just be a surrogate princess. " " Hope will be my child's mother." And that's when her entire world stopped. Hope. My...my child's mother? " H...hope?" " Yes. I will talk to her and tell her everything. I am sure she will understand and accept our child. While for you? I give you 24 hours to think and come to a decision. " " Do you want a pathetic life for your child as an illegitimate son of a bastard or do you want me and Hope to give him the name of the next werewolf heir?" " He can live as a bastard or as a King?" " The choice is yours, princess." With this, he got up to his full height to walk away and her mind was numb, tears seemed to have a mind of their own. They fall non stop. Bastard. Slut's kid. Weak Pathetic. The words echo in her mind and she closes her eyes to finally break. Her hands wrap around her stomach and she cries, whispering just one thing. I am sorry baby, mamma is so sorry. *** 6 MONTHS AGO- THE WEREWOLF TERRITORY Chapter 1: The Coup A loud blast echoes outside, and I place my hands over my ears, closing my ears. The only sound audible to me in the 5 by 5 feet closed box I'm hiding in is my thumping heart. The pitch darkness surrounds me, and I don't want to see anything, especially not death. I am content here because, for me, this is my little safe haven amidst the chaos where my entire world is being annihilated. The walls of the Werewolf Kingdom are turning to ashes. Just an hour ago, my mom and dad were laughing at my silly jokes. We were having a delicious lunch after a tiring day, discussing our next foreign trip plans. And now, here we are, waiting for death to come. Something crashes onto the safe box I'm hiding in, and I see a dent forming in the metal. I immediately covered my mouth to muffle my scream. "Where the fuc* is she hiding?" someone says, clawing the furniture in the room and tossing it around, sounding agitated. "Can't we just burn this place down?" another voice asks, and my eyes widen. No, please, no. "Boss wants the girl alive. We can't do that now!" I hear shuffling and breaking outside. I stay put, not even daring to breathe in their presence. Soon, they leave the room, and I lower my hand, blinking away my tears. Hours pass, and I keep sitting there in the small safe. My back, legs, and neck ache, but I don't dare to get out. Dad's words echo in my mind. "No matter what happens, Amira, don't get out of this safe until I come to get you.Okay?" His words are final, and I don't dare to go against him. Counting my heavy breaths, I don't know how many more hours passed. Suddenly, I hear the click of the safe lock, and my heart stops in my chest. Did they find me? No, I don't want to die, please. "Princess Amira!" A familiar voice speaks, and when I look up through my teary vision, my heart finally finds peace. "Uncle Grey!" My dad's Beta crouches down in front of me, and without another thought, I throw myself into his arms, crying hysterically, content at seeing a familiar face. He rubs soft circles on my back as I cry like a child, but I don't care. I need my family; I need someone to lean on. I have never been alone. I am scared of being left alone; I am scared of dying. "Shh, princess. It's fine. You are fine." After drenching his shirt wet with my tears, I moved back from him, desperate as I looked into his eyes. My lips wobbled as I spoke. "Did we... did we win?" His grey eyes immediately dimmed upon hearing my question, and he lowered his head. "We managed to stop them, but we don't know for how long." We were the strongest of all the packs! We are Royals! We had thousands of army men, more than all the packs combined alone! Who are they? Why couldn't we defeat them? He helped me stand up, and finally, I could breathe. I looked around the room, and I wish I hadn't. Everything was broken, turned upside down. "Where is Dad? Take me to him." His face suddenly dropped, and I realized something was wrong. "Uncle Grey?" "Come with me." He started walking, and I followed. As soon as we stepped out of the room, my heart leapt into my chest as I saw blood stains on the walls. Guards walked by with wounded arms or legs. The sight was even worse on the ground, and I immediately lowered my eyes, unable to bear it. I was scared of blood. I felt sick in my stomach. The smell of medicine overwhelmed me, and my footsteps stopped when I found myself in the infirmary. "Uncle Grey, why are we--" My words were cut off by the scene in front of me, and a loud scream echoed around the room. It was my scream. My mind went blank as I stared at my mom and dad, attached to numerous tubes. Dad's chest was bandaged, while mom had a bandage around her head. "Noooooo Mommmm! Dadddd!" I went hysterical, crying and trying to shake them awake, but the guards came forward and pulled me back. "Nooooooo!" I continued to scream at the top of my lungs, and the doctor and others looked at me with pity. "Your Dad and mom were seriously injured in the attack. I'm sorry, Princess. Their condition is very critical." My legs suddenly felt weak, and I whipped my head around to look at him in disbelief, shaking my head in denial. No... this is impossible. My dad is the werewolf King! He is the strongest man I have ever seen! He can't be defeated! "No! You're lying! This can't be! Nooooooo!" I refused to believe the truth, dropping on my knees beside them. It felt like I died at that moment, tears streaming from my eyes like a perennial waterfall. My head started hurting, and before I knew it, dark spots entered my vision. "Princess Amira!" I heard a scream from behind, but it was too late. My body hit the ground with a thud, and I lost consciousness, with only one thing repeating on my lips. "Mom... Dad...?"
