  Esme's POV   "Case dismissed."   The sound of the gavel signaled the end of the trail and the beginning of my failure. So this was what it meant to lose a case, this was the ache and embarrassment to be felt at this point.   "What a waste of time and money." Mr. Benson, my client lamented.
