chapter 1; Meeting Her

524 Words
It was a chilly autumn morning and I had no desire to get out of my comfortable bed but I had to. It was my first day in high school and I had to at least show up. Although the weather was shitty I felt oddly optimistic about this. I had no particular reason to believe this is going to be bad. I don't live far away from my high school but during the morning rush i feel like I'm living in another city. I was still 15 minutes early which was convenient. The school didn't look big on the outside but it is actually huge. All first grades were on the first floor so no one can get too lost. Around a 100 freshmen were lost but I guess this happens every year. Inside of that crowd I see someone. It was my savior at the moment. Teacher I could ask for directions. "Excuse me, do you know where room 105 is?" "yeah, go down the hall and turn right at the end" "thank you" I did as the teacher said and found the room 105. The door was wide open so I just came in. No one really cared which was great for me. I just sat in the second row in the middle when a girl approached me. "Can I sit here?" "sure, I'm Marcy by the way, nice too meet you" "I'm Maddy. It's nice to meet you too" Maddy was very nice and we got along pretty well. Soon enough we started to talk to 2 girls who sat behind us and I didn't even notice when a girl sat in front of us. She was sitting alone and I only noticed her when teacher walked in and I turned to see her sitting there. After a short introduction we went to the cafeteria. Everyone was talking, trying to make new friends except her. She wasn't all alone on the side. She was talking to this one girl but she seemed quiet and reserved. Soon the girl left and she was standing there, kinda awkwardly not wanting to interrupt the conversation. She seemed like she wants to interact but she didn't. It's not like i don't understand her, I totally get her. I was hesitant at first but I went to talk to her. "Hey, my name is Marcy" "Hi my name is Alexia" "Alexia, that's a pretty name." "Thank you, Marcy is a pretty name too" "Can I call u Alex?" "Sure" From that few moments I could feel she was shy but overall nice. She just needed some time to relax. "So Alex what kinda music do you listen to?" "Well it's mostly classic rock. What about you, what kinda music do you listen to?" "Really? I mostly listen to classic rock and pop punk." She smiled at me gently and that's when I knew that we're gonna be best friends. "We're gonna be best friends, right?" "Of course we are" She smiled once again making my heart skip a beat. Could this be excitement? Could I just be excited over making new friends? That's quite odd.
