Lily squeezed my hand a little tighter, like she was afraid if she let go, I would vanish again.
“You know,” she said after a moment, trying to smile, “Tyler and Liam…they haven’t left your side this whole time.”
I blinked slowly, feeling like my brain was moving through thick fog. “What?” I rasped, my voice still hoarse.
Lily laughed softly, wiping under her eyes with the sleeve of her hoodie.
“Yeah. Like…they took shifts. Liam would sit with you during the day sometimes, but mostly…it was Tyler.”
