Tessa’s POV
I barely stepped out of the classroom when Lily came rushing to my side, her face still full of excitement.
“Where did you even come up with all what you said?” she asked, linking her arm through mine. “That whole thing about a leader being everything… that was deep, Tessa.”
I looked down at my shoes as we walked, dragging one foot slowly in front of the other. I felt her eyes waiting for an answer, but I wasn’t sure what to say.
“I didn’t say much,” I mumbled after a pause. “I just… spoke what I felt. That’s all.”
Lily gave me a light nudge on the shoulder, like she wasn’t buying it.
“Well, it worked,” she said with a small smile. “You had everyone quiet. Even Tam.”
