Tessa’s POV
I sigh, rubbing my temples as I stare at the brochures spread across my bed. I’ve spent the whole morning going through them, my mind growing numb from reading about different schools I don’t even want to attend. I should have done this weeks ago, but I never knew I’d be changing schools. My mother never told me. She just decided for me like she always does.
Frustration bubbles in my chest, but before I can dwell on it, the door swings open, and my mother strides in. Her sharp gaze sweeps over the room before landing on me.
She silently read me for a while before she clear her throat. “Your brother will start attending daycare,” she announces. “Most days, he’ll come with me to work. I will hire him a nanny.”
