“Is there something wrong with you? You’ve been missing a lot of targets for the past days.” My mother asked after seeing my report. It was true, there were already three vampires that got away from me thanks for me being very distracted.
My out of luck also started with that vampire that ever so casually used a human to safeguard himself. I tried finding him after he ran but he was suddenly gone!
“It’s not the time to be distracted, son.” It wasn’t a statement with care but a threat. My “family” doesn’t tolerate low performance and they would go to lengths to correct that.
I looked at her, trying to see if there was a speck of guilt in her eyes, but all I could see was annoyance because of how people were talking about me.
