Zeke’s POV
I was busy talking to my manager about my new book. We were discussing the entirety of the contract and how everything would turn out during the promotion when I suddenly felt odd.
“Zeke, anything wrong?” I smiled and shook my head as to not make them worry. It was just a brief moment of sadness, but I couldn’t shrug it off for some reason.
“Sorry, can we take a break? Even just for five minutes.” I asked so I could contact Caleb. I just need to know that nothing bad happened, or I might not be able to concentrate on anything today.
My manager quickly nodded, “Sure. Whatever you need.”
“Thank you.” I quickly stood and went straight outside the room to call Caleb, but he wasn’t picking up. I tried a couple more times but it kept on going to voicemail.
