I smiled and greeted her, “Hi. ”
My heart jumped in surprise after realizing that Zeke was calling. Even though it was by accident, I wanted to make sure that she was alright. Miguel would definitely nag at me, but she really sounded so sad over the phone. My wolf was awake again, which made me feel a bit faint as I could feel it running around in my consciousness.
At least I should be thankful that I wasn’t reacting violently to it like in the past. Now, I could see her eye to eye without fear. But seeing her swollen eyes made my heart ache instead.
My wolf was complaining to me. This time it was actually talking to me, saying that I should treat her better. I wanted to retaliate but it was not the right time.
