Her My body feels heavy and my mouth dry. A pounding in my head forces me to the surface waking from my much needed slumber. I move my arm slightly and the lack of cool shackles around it sizzling my skin has me stilling. My eyes fly open and they are met with a white ceiling. I look to my wrists and see they are bandaged. I don’t attempt to sit up because I can already feel the pain within my chest. I set my hand back down and feel hot breath fan it gently. A full head of black hair lays on the bed next to me. His breathing soft and steady signaling that he is sleeping. It is dark outside and the lights in the room are off for that purpose. I lift my hand carefully and softly run my hand through his hair.
