My gaze meets his and I feel his anger but it’s not directed at me. An underlying feeling lays deep within him. It’s fear for me he’s afraid of something but I’m not sure what.
“We will reconvene later.” Ark says in a serious tone dismissing all of the alphas. His eyes don’t leave mine and I notice Aleric still rooted behind him. After the door closes from the last alpha leaving Ark rises and closes the distance between us.
“Liliana it’s not that I don’t trust you. We are in the middle of a war and I need you protected. I can’t have history repeating itself I need to know you are safe.” His hand finds my cheek and gently brushes it the familiar sparks calming my emotions. I feel his settle also through our bond.
