Blake smiled as the board member shook his hand, but he wasn’t really listening to what the man was saying. All he knew was that he needed to get to Alicia fast before anyone else did. He was afraid the news might have reached her ears by now, and he wanted to be there to explain what had happened.
Even though the presentation had been a success, that didn’t take away the awful feeling he had in his stomach for the way everything had gone down. With the possibility of losing her before him, Blake realized that Alicia was more important to him than he had imagined.
