Blake had been surprised to see Dr. Montgomery walk into Dr. Hartwood’s office and had been even more so when the professor had asked her to grab a seat. What was his father thinking? And how was she connected? The only way to find out was to hear what Dr. Hartwood had to say, so he settled into his chair and waited.
But he hadn’t expected to find out he would be speaking at the symposium. Being selected was a big deal, something that most people worked round the year to prepare for. His face creased into a smile as he thought about the opportunity. But what did that have to do with the work for his father? He couldn’t see the connection.
