Darcy wiped her hands with the bottom half of her apron after wiping the diner’s main counter. The lunch rush had just ended, so the diner was nearly empty. An elderly couple sat in a booth at one end, enjoying a slice of pie after their small lunch, but that was it besides her and Danny. The cook had even stepped out to grab himself a bite to eat before he was needed back to start preparing for dinner.
