Jasmine's POV Your man?" She asked, more like a sneer. "That none of your business."I fired and she rolled her eyes. "All I want is for you to stay off my man. James doesn't want you. Stop trying to force yourself on him b***h!" She roared and I snickered. "Really? Because it seem like you are the one scared he would come running back to me. Your face says it all." I teased, I could see her face turning red in anger. "Jasmine! I am warning you for the last time. Stay clear my man!" I chuckled and sniffed. "Veronica, I don't have your man here, so leave." I retorted and made way to leave but she crossed my part. "I am in no moment to get in words with you, Veronica."I begged and I saw her stare seductively at Xander. No! She hasn't stopped her flirty ways. "Sister" I heard her called me, her voice and face changing into a soft one. "You didn't tell me brother in-law is this cute." She said, her eyes not leaving him and I scoffed. "Because he isn't your brother in-law and I am not your sister!" I snapped to her face. She frowned and teared her face off him. Her eyes sparked and she said, "Why are you this mean? Sister, now that you are representing a big company. You wouldn't even bulge helping the family company. It going down the drain and father is at the verge of dying." She cried and I stood there stupfied with her cunning way of getting things. My eyes darted at xander and I could see him smiling. Can someone just help me? At first she stares at me in the most condescending manner and the next second she's out here performing the best sister stage. "That isn't my business either!" I flared which she didn't back down. The fact that she sniffed, bringing out her handkerchief to clean the fake tears surprised me the most. Oh gracious! She never changes. "Sister, don't forsake us when you have the money to help us. You have the power to get the company back to his feet so why don't you wanna help?" She stamped her feet on the floor and whined. "Can you just get out of way?" I requested and she walked towards me then whispered into my ear. "You are trying to act tough because he's here right? I promise that you would regret every of your actions." She threatened. I laughed frantically. "That should be in the past, dear." After the encounter with Veronica, she left me crumbled and all I just remembered was the image of her laughing at my helpless self, the day she drugged me. The pain of my murdered baby I was trying to keep in, blew out with no control and all I did was tear up in pain. Even if James wasn't meant to be mine, I still wished I had his child with me. Perhaps he might be interested in making things right. When he had called me, I was somehow happy but then he revealed he was hear for another reason. All he wanted was a deal from our company which shattered my hopes. Perhaps it was time to move on and open to the reality that he can never love me just like I do. More reasons I didn't want to come to Newport. I had rejected the proposal several times but they just kept pushing it my way and making it seem like I was powerless. I adjusted my makeup, checking out the Maxidress I was wearing. A beautiful smile appeared on my face as I admired my self. Beautiful things comes with peace of mind. Right? This was my new lifestyle and I had to take it in, no matter what. I held the invitation letters given to me by one of our biggest clients. Rodriguez. Xander really took after him. Earning the biggest client tag isn't easy but Alexander obtained that in one week of arrival. 'Father and Son Duo' like they used to call it. We didn't even wanted to be friends because I thought he was cold and mean like they usually say but it turned out to be the best decision of my life. I sashayed out if my apartment into the SUV car. A one hour drive was enough to make my butt hurts and I groaned in pain walking out of the car. One of the many things I wouldn't get used to was the paparazzi. They just buzz out of nowhere making life difficult for me. "I hope you adapt to that new system." xander would always say but it can just be. I sprinted into the gala party with the help of my supposed bodyguards. My eyes wandered the place as I got in. They were filled with prestigious organizations and clients. Who could have thought I could make it to this extent. My eyes met with xander's intense gaze on me and I waved. "Xander!" I whispered as I beamed with joy. He excused himself from the person he was talking with and strode towards me. "Look who we have here!" He teased, his face held smirk. I scrutinized the colorful hall and the buzzy sound of music everywhere. "I really didn't think it would be like this." I whined and he laughed. "You looking enticing, either way." He commented and my face burned red in blush. "Stop your flirtatious manner! I am not one of your girls." I warned him and he winked, walking hand in hand with me. We finally stopped at a group of gigantic grown men. My hand itched anxiously. God! "Xander Rodriguez. It's really great to have you here."One of the men praised, his eyes darting at me. "Mind introducing?" He requested and I smiled about to say something when he interrupted. Annoying! "Yes please,"He winked at me and smiled. "She's my girlfriend." My eyebrows twitched in confusion. "What!"
