The group stood frozen, their faces etched with a mixture of fatigue and fear as they found themselves at a dead end. Before them loomed a sheer cliff that towered into the night sky, offering no visible path to the bottom. The darkness of the night only added to their despair, as the sparse stars above provided little light to illuminate their surroundings.
