Damon’s POV The more I tried to break through to Winter, the more she pulled away. It wasn’t just the therapy anymore—it was everything. There was something deeper, something she was hiding, and it was getting harder to ignore. I’d seen it in her eyes when she looked at me, the fear, the hesitation. She was scared of something, and I was damn sure it had nothing to do with the recovery process. But every time I asked her what was going on, she deflected.
