He did it again. He said he would be right back. It’s been 4 hours, and he’s still not back.
A part of me is angry that he keeps leaving me like this, especially after the whole hot tub thing.
The other part of me is worried. What if he got into trouble? What if he's not okay?
Well, I’m sure he can handle himself. What else is out there that could even take him on?
After pacing around the room for hours, waiting for him to show up and go to bed with me, I give up.
I do my usual bedtime routine and pick out one of his shirts to wear. At least I have that.
I climb into bed, trying to hold on just a bit longer to see if he’ll finally come into bed with me.
It never happens, and I drift off.
