It’s quiet, there’s only a few servants moving about, and I can see out the windows that there’s a couple of big guards posted outside. The same ones that were outside the bedroom door on that first day.
I don't know if they would let me leave, but I have no interest in trying that today.
I know that there's way more to this big house than I’ve seen. There's several different hallways that Kael has never walked me down.
I move slowly at first, peeking into rooms like I’m expecting someone to yell at me. Most of them are empty guest rooms or storage spaces. The hallways twist and branch like a maze, and every turn makes me realize just how massive this place really is.
