I jolt awake and gasp. I had the most awful dream. Kael went crazy and tried to kill me.
My head is pounding, I blink a few times and let the blur in my eyes clear.
Wait, where am I? This isn’t Kael’s room. I look down and there’s an IV in my left hand, bandages cover my right wrist. Oh s**t. That wasn’t a dream.
I begin to examine my surroundings and find Kiana sitting on a chair in the corner of the room, reading a celebrity magazine.
“Kiana?” I barely whisper.
She bolts up from her chair. “Jas! You’re awake.” Her voice is laced with concern. “I’m so glad you’re okay”
“Kiana what happened? Where am I? Where is Kael?”
“You’re in one of the guest rooms of the house. Kael is… unavailable right now.” Her tone softens. “I’ll go get the doctor and tell him you’re up.”
