We sit at the large dining table, and Talon hands his phone to Kael. But before he starts reading it, I realize something.
“Wait, where has Kiana been?” I ask.
Kael doesn’t look up from the phone. “She’s probably off doing whatever pointless stuff she does all day. She never wants to be involved in anything that requires actual work.”
“But I haven’t seen her at all for the past two days, and I thought she wanted to help me… You’re not worried about her?”
“No, she always does stuff like this.” Talon says. “Just read the messages.”
I lean over to look at Talon’s phone that Kael is holding. He moves his arm around to my back to make space for me.
Talon: Hey Colette, long time no see. Do you want to meet up soon? I have to say, I miss having you in my bed.
