Chapter 6: "Welcome To Sovereign Academy!"

1787 Words
"And who might you be?" The ginger-haired boy approaches me with caution, his hands raised in the air. "Are you with the thugs? If so, start saying your prayers to God." He stands there, in a guarding pose while still keeping an eye on the black-haired girl with the skirt. Jarvis: Who the f**k does this guy think he is? I'd take him down in a heartbeat. No, you won't, Jarvis. You're just a stat window. "I mean no harm, man. Look," I pull my outfit from behind my back and point to the badge logo. "I'm going to the same academy that you're going to!" The ginger-haired boy raises his eyebrow and lifts his guard up a bit. "What's your name?" He inquires, "My name is Felix Smith from the village of Sierra." Suddenly, he goes back to a normal pose, most likely thinking that I'm not a threat at all. "Ok, I believe you." I make a confused expression, which he giggles at, I wonder why he would believe me so suddenly. "How do you believe me? Am I not suspicious?" "Not that, I've been to Sierra before, and the people there are taught to be kind and caring. By the way, my name is Oliver, Oliver Cadridge!" He exclaims with happiness. He tells the girl to wave at me, and she does so willingly. "Anyways, I have to go home with my sister. See you at the Academy" He waves his hand before putting his sister on his shoulders and running away. Jarvis: Well, he seems like a good guy. "YO, DIDN'T YOU JUST SAY YOU WERE GONNA BEAT HIS ASS?" (Jarvis says no. He still wants to beat his ass) Jarvis: STOP RUINING MY FUN BROTHER! 😭 "You and that brother of yours" I smirk, reminding me of my step-sister and how we've always argued and betrayed eachother. "Well, we might as well book another night at the hotel.." I walk back home, admiring the liveliness of the cities citizens, me and Jarvis laughing and making fun of random people we saw, autistics, men, women, anybody at this point. After a while of walking through the pale, grey stone roads, we arrive at Andreev Hotel. "Welco- Oh, its you again." Nadia exclaims before grabbing her attendance papers. "You know the drill, 15 silver coins!" (Fact: 1 silver coin is equal to 100 dollars, so 1 gold coin is equal to 10,000 dollars) I start shuffling my hands in my pocket before counting, "13,14,15 Silver Coins." I hand it over to her and she grabs a key from under the desk. "Room 127, I'll wake you up for the entrance exam tomorrow!" She smiles, making her the first time I've ever seen her. Her appearance is quite striking: she has long, white hair interwoven with light blue eyes, and she's dressed in tight clothing that accentuates her attractiveness. "T-Thank you!" I quickly turn my head, now bright red from blushing. I ascend the creaky stairs and enter the 100 hall. After navigating through door after door, I finally arrive at Room 127. Upon opening the door, I'm greeted by a delightful, romantic coconut scent that I can't help but sniff a couple of times more. The wind magic in the room is pleasant, and it's quite clean. Jarvis: I think you might like her! (Jarvis is currently in a fit of laughter.) "You're a bit late to say that, retard." I chuckle at Jarvis for a moment. Jarvis: f**k YOU, YOU INSOLENT FOOL, I WOULD GLADLY COME OUT OF MY SEAL AND BEAT THE s**t OUT OF YOU! (Lil bro is definitely mad) SHUT UP BROTHER! "Yeah-Yeah, but I wonder how long it would take you. You said you've been sealed for 240 years now, right?" I smirk at the Stat screen, (Jarvis is too embarrassed to say anything right now) "Anyways, show me my stats" Jarvis: Fine. Strength: 25(Finally, stronger than a wolf, i'd still clear you tho) Speed: 127 (Speedy b***h) Dexterity: 58 Knowledge: 38 (Dumbass) Magic: 41 (Commoner, you won't survive in Sovereign Academy) "You're talking all that s**t yet you can't do nothing about it," I chuckle loudly, which makes Jarvis a bit mad. Jarvis huffs and puffs, his virtual form shaking with indignant fury. "YOU b***h, I WILL KILL YOU AS SOON AS I GET OUT! I WILL SLICE THAT HEAD OUT AND I WILL FEED IT TO WILD WOLVES!" Jarvis yells for about 10 minutes, essentially yapping. His words fill the room with an intense energy, but I remain unfazed, smirking at his outburst. "Is that all you've got?" I taunt him, enjoying the show. "You've been sealed away for 240 years, and this is the best you can do?" Jarvis growls in response, his virtual form pulsating with anger. "f**k YOU, YOU INSOLENT FOOL! I WOULD GLADLY COME OUT OF MY SEAL AND BEAT THE s**t OUT OF YOU IF I COULD!" I giggle at Jarvis for a bit, finding his frustration amusing. "You're a bit late to say that, retard." I jab at him, trying to rile him up even more. Jarvis grinds his virtual teeth, his eyes glowing with a fierce determination. "f**k YOU, YOU SMUG PRICK! I WILL SHOW YOU WHO'S THE STRONGER ONE WHEN I GET THE CHANCE!" The back-and-forth banter continues for a while, neither of us backing down. It's a strange, tense dynamic, but it's also oddly comforting. As we argue and betrayed each other, I can't help but feel a sense of familiarity, like this is something we've always done. Meanwhile, I can't help but glance around the cozy room, taking in the calming scent of coconut that fills the air. The wind magic is gentle and soothing, and the cleanliness of the room makes me feel at ease. I can't help but wonder what kind of entrance exam we'll be facing tomorrow, and if Jarvis will be able to hold his anger, it would be a perfect day. 7:50 am "Wake up, Bozo," I open my eyes and just see Nadia right in front of my eyes. I jump up, scared as s**t as to what just happened. "FOR GOD'S SAKE, MAN, KNOCK ON THE DOOR!" I exclaim. "I did do that but you didn't open." Nadia says, feeling defensive with that calm expression. "But what if I was naked!" I yell back, feeling the need to assert myself. "I've seen naked men before." I'm currently wierded out to what I just heard. "Excuse me, WHAT!" I yell as loud as I could. "Don't wake up the whole hotel, now put your outfit on. The entrance ceremony starts in 78 minutes." Nadia claims as she leaves the room, leaving me alone with Jarvis. After about 39 minutes later, I gather my nerves and leave the hotel, only to see Nadia standing behind a carriage "Took you long enough, now get on," she says, hopping inside the carriage herself. She signals for me to follow, and I climb into the carriage beside her. "Are you guys ready?" The driver inquires, "Yes." Me and Nadia say in unison. I touch her hand on accident but they feel soft and warm. I just can't tell myself to let go. "What are you doing?" Nadia says, confused as I immediately let go of her hand. "I-I uh-I" I try to find an excuse. "You can continue holding my hand" Nadia looks away, blushing in emberrassment. The ride continues to be bumpy as me and Nadia don't talk to eachother. Jarvis: Don't be happy, she ugly af. (Jarvis is jealous and thinks that Nadia would be an excellent wife) SHUT UP MALEN! After a while, we arrive at Sovereign Academy. The entire campus is bustling with freshmen who are enjoying their time, laughing, running, and being cheerful. Amidst it all, I spot Oliver. Just as I prepare to run up to him, a man in a long robe with white hair, (he's older than a fossil) casts a spell and begins yelling. "Testing, Testing!" The man shouts, utilizing a megaphone-like incantation to communicate with us all. The students shift their attention towards him. "Ladies and gentlemen, esteemed faculty, and the fresh young minds that stand before us, I welcome you to Sovereign Academy, an institution that has been molding the finest minds of our world for centuries. As we gather here today on the precipice of a new journey, I am reminded of the words of the great philosopher Heraclitus, who once said, "The only constant in life is change."
