I didn’t like the sound of that. “Fun?”
Taina nodded so hard her tail bounced. “Oh yes. I was told I could have all the fun I wanted with you before I tossed your lifeless bodies into the ocean.”
Luca narrowed his eyes at her. “Told by whom?”
She wagged a finger at him and spoke in a sing-song voice. “I’m not telling you.”
I shook my head. “We’re not who you think we are. We’re just an old couple. See?” I held up my wizened old hand.
Taina laughed. “Really? You think I don’t know who you are? How stupid do you think I am?”
Luca narrowed his eyes at her. “That would depend on what you intend to try to do to us.”
Taina tied one end of the rope to the rod as she shook her head. “It’s not what I’m going to try, it’s what I’m going to do.”
