WHAT A CRUEL WORLD

Ryan's POV

We set out to look for the dagger after the old man gave us a map. He didn't particularly say where we are going to he just told us to go meet an old woman more deeper in the woods. And not to forget, Ope followed us. After he woke up, he demanded we tell him what happened and Tiwa told him she didn't have enough time as we are setting out to look for something important and do you know what his reply was?

"Make sure to give me a reasonable explanation on the way." Ope told Tiwa.

"Wait what? you can not follow us, the quest we are going out for is too dangerous." Tiwa informed him.

"If anything at all is dangerous, that is everything about this place and who do you expect me to be with? someone who I am familiar with or someone I don't know at all?" he asked Tiwa. After so much argument, he put it straight to her that he is following us no matter what. I gotta say, this guy really got balls to be like this. I mean he has absolute no powers and if there comes any danger he sure does not know how to defend himself but still, he is right. So far so good, the only person he is familiar with in our world is his ex girlfriend whom he knew in his own world.

On our way, I asked Tiwa what I least expected I was going to say in the next hundreds of years to come

"Tell us about how you met Ope." I demanded. Yeah right, to get to know her, I have to start at some point. I can't just fo straight to the point and be like, 'hey Tiwa can you tell me how worse your life was in the human world'

After contemplating for a while she decided to just be free with us and talk.

"Instead of that I will tell you what made us acquaintances." She suggested

"Seriously! I don't see how many difference there is between how u met and how you became acquainted with each other." Tash said and Tiwa just smiled. Seriously, I also don't get the difference. Is she messing with us?

Then she started the story

Narrator POV

After her friends and Mike betrayed her, Tiwa moved on, she had new friends and also new best friend whom she loved so heartedly and trusted her with all that she had. Second term was a new beginning of life for Tiwa, guys came to her to ask he out but she refused them bluntly and politely. There was this guy, Mike mate, he admired Tiwa right from the day she stepped her foot into the school but he kept the fact that he loved her to himself even his best friend did not know, his name is Opeyemi but his friends call him Ope.

He decided to express his feelings to Tiwa on the long run he did not know that Tiwa is not ready for any relationship of the sort. He saw her one day and decided to try his luck.

“Hello Tiwa.” Ope called to her

“Hi snr.” She replied humbly and with respect.

“Please I want to have a word with you.”

“A word with me? Please snr have I offended you.”

“No I just want to talk to you about something important.”

“Okay, where should we meet.”

“Closing time I will come and meet you in your class.”

“Okay, I will be expecting you.”

“Thanks.”

The bell is jingled and that denotes that it is closing time. Tiwa waited for Ope to come and meet her in the class. Ope delayed her but instead Tiwa waited patiently for him. He later came.

“Am sorry for coming late please accept my apology.”

“Apology accepted.” She did not hide the fact that he indeed delayed her.

“So, I hope you are not in a hurry or are you.”

“No, you can take your time to talk.”

“Thanks.”

“You are welcome.”

“What I want to tell you is that, since the day you stepped your foot into this school I loved you and even drew pictures of you I can no longer hide the fact that I love you, the love I have for you is strong I decided to keep it to myself to know maybe it is an illusion but instead I still find myself loving you the more in short, can you be my girlfriend.” She listened to him with keen interest and think for a while before she finally gave him a reply.

“Maybe if you came before Mike I would consider you and you will be my boyfriend but after what happened I promised myself that I will not have anything to do with guys in this school and outside this school till after my secondary school.”

She took her time to explain to him what transpired between her and Mike how he dumped her and left her for her so called best friend she explained further what they have done together.

“Oh, that is terrible, but I didn’t hear about that.”

“What! It spread in the school like wild fire.”

“Really maybe it was then I decided to take some time off from school.”

“Okay, no wonder but none the less I thank you for understanding me.”

“That does not mean that is the end of the world, you make mistake now not to make the same mistake in the future and you should be grateful that you guys did not go too far from kissing because I bet it would go round the school to the extent of letting the authority know about it.”

“I thank God because of that.”

“That does not mean that I will give up on you I will not relent until you give me a chance.”

“I won’t give you a chance so stop trying.” She said and left there in a hurry as if a lion is chasing her.

“I won’t stop trying no matter what you say to convince me.” Ope said to himself.

After that day he did not stop going after Tiwa, he sent friends and non-friends to her but instead Tiwa stood on her decision and determined that no one can change it no matter the situation.

Days ran into weeks and weeks into month and now Tiwa is finally promoted to SS2 and every other hostel student none of them repeated as well as the boys both seniors and juniors. When everybody settled in their given classes Tiwa thought that Ope has finally fit it right to give up but little did she know that he only wants her to settle in her new class, after four weeks of settling down Ope started disturbing Tiwa once again. When she still behaves adamant he organized a surprise proposal for her in the hostel when all the patrons and matrons are out for a party. Tiwa was brought in blind folded. They opened her eyes she was flabbergasted.

“Wow!!!!” She was sung a song which went perfectly well then Ope came out of hiding and everyone clapped their hands he knelt down in front of Tiwa with flowers in his hands.

“I don’t know what to compare you with you are the beauty of the star you dazzle my whole life and make it shine. In front of the whole students in the hostel I propose to you, will you be my girlfriend if you say yes I promise to make you the happiest girl on earth and I promise you won’t have any course to regret giving me a chance to be part of your life can you please open the door of your heart and let me fill it with love once again.” Ope said.

“First of all, hand over the beautiful flower to me, (Ope handed over the flower to her.) and also you said that you don’t know what you can compare me with what about this lovely and innocent flower (with what she said everyone laughed including Ope.) and can you please repeat what you said last.”

“Open the doors of your heart and let me fill it with love once again.”

“Say yes.” Every one chorused and said repeatedly

“Though it is hard for me to make this decision but the truth is that I don’t love you and don’t feel anything for you so.” Everywhere was quiet, every one waiting for her reply and with what she had said at first there is no probability that she would give the answer yes but Ope believed in the power of love so he was not moved at all in all that she had said at first. Tiwa continued after observing everyone’s silence.

“My final verdict is (she placed everyone on a suspense.) yes I will be your girlfriend.” She said aloud.

“Come again please I didn’t hear you clearly.”

“With everything I have done to you, you didn’t relent you kept on telling me that trying and failing once is not the end of the world that I have to keep on trying to be a success with all the words of encouragement from you and your determination to make me yours I decided to give you the answer yes.”

Ope stood up from where he knelt jumped up and shouted for joy, he hugged Tiwa and thanked all that made his decoration a success, he made it obvious that he is really happy and he celebrated the success with his friends. Indeed Ope kept to his words he made Tiwa happy and he filled her life with love once again and they loved each other wholeheartedly. Other people prayed that they should also experience such love. On a particular day, every one were on the field observing silence hour but some certain students were missing from the field, this include: Tiwa, Mike and Achiever. Tiwa was in a lonely and quiet place thinking of how God made Ope to make her love again and to let her to be loved again.

On the other hand, Achiever and Mike were plotting evil against Tiwa, they were not happy with the fact that she is finally finding love but they could not come to the conclusion of what they can do to her. Meanwhile Tiwa’s new best friend, Faith, is already in love with Tiwa’s boyfriend, Ope, so she also started planning against Tiwa and is ready to do anything to get what she wants being the only daughter of the President in London, she came to Nigeria only to have a taste of her mothers’ land.

Tiwa is seen at the back of a classroom with Mike, they were talking about themselves.“Am sorry Tiwa, am deeply sorry for what I did I was stupid then but the truth is that after that day I could not forget about you and the truth is that I love you and still do.” Mike told Tiwa.

“I have been waiting for this very moment, when you will come to your senses and realize that you only did what you did to prove your friends wrong and not that you don’t love me. It is true that I still love you and I miss you. They started kissing and before they knew it, Mike pulled of Tiwa’s clothe, he used his hands to caress her fresh laps, started kissing her neck, pressing her God given gift and now the two of them are now n***d then Mike gently put in his **** into Tiwa’s. Meanwhile when all this is going on Faith who sneaked a phone into the hostel saw everything when she was passing, so she thinks that this is the best option for her the best opportunity she has been searching for so she grabbed it opportunity comes but once.

The next three days instead of Faith to report to the authority of the school, after she was done doing whatever she wants to do with the video she took that day, she posted it on the school account which everyone have access to. When the day student saw it they marveled and it went round the school it spread like a raging fire. After the stuff had gone round, the authority of the school summoned Mike and Tiwa to their office.

“Welcome, miss Tiwa and mister Mike.”

“Thanks sir and ma.”

“Have you seen what is trending on the school account.”

“Yes ma.”

“What do you have to say to that?”

“I don’t know anything about it ma.”

The same thing that Tiwa is been questioned for applies to Mike and they both gave the same answers. The man is attending to Mike and the woman is attending to Tiwa.

“You say that you don’t know anything about it, with this strong evidence you want to deny it.”

“But that is the truth, I know with this evidence the whole world would not believe me.”

“Thank goodness you know that.”

“Please believe me.”

“Am sorry, you have to bring your parents to the school, for questioning.”

“What will be the outcome?”

“Expulsion, we don’t have any option left than that.”

“What!”

“We understand that the both of you are our best students that the school cannot afford to lose but with the situation now we have to follow the school rules because there is equality before the law.”

Mike and Tiwa were short of words, they were in tears, no one wanted to have anything to do with them. Tiwa went to Faith.

“Faith.”

“Yes what do you want?”

“I didn’t do it.”

“The evidence is clear madam, u did it.”

“You don’t believe the evidence, do you?”

“Get out and don’t you ever talk to me ever in your life.”

“You were supposed to be my friend.”

“Your friend indeed.”

“I thought I can put my trust in you not knowing that you are a sheep in the form of a human.” Faith slapped her and pushed her away.

The next day is the day for witnesses to come before the Principal.

“Yes, who saw them when they were doing this f*******n act?”

“I saw them.” When Tiwa looked up she saw her best friend’s hand up, she is shocked to the bones.

“Yes, miss Faith come up with your evidence.” She came up with the evidence with her and everyone were shocked.

“This is it.”

She played it for everyone to watch and they all shouted.

“Ahhh.” Chorused everyone.

“So you are the enemy I called you a friend.”

“Shut up there.” She was shunned by the Principal. After the evidence day, she talked to Ope and they were alone and silence ruled the place.

“Where were you on the day of the incident?”

“I was alone at the back of your class.”

“What were you doing there?”

“Thinking.”

“Talk to me.” He pulled her face and made her look into his eyes and he continued.

“Tell me the truth at least I will not do anything.”

“Believe me I don’t know anything about it, I swear.” She took her time to explain everything to him. The both of them were in tears already.

“I don’t know what to do but something in me choose to believe you but with the evidence I ….”

“With the evidence you do what?”

“Am sorry I believe them.”

“Tell me that you are lying tell me that you believe me and not them.”

“What do you expect me to do, it was your own best friend that saw you not your enemy.”

“I know and I still question myself that what on earth have I done to her to deserve all this treatment from her.”

“And with the situation of things now.” He in put a pause, both of them in serious tears. He continued.

“We both have to go on our separate ways.” Tiwa almost fainted.

“Tell me you don’t mean it.”

“Am sorry, but remember this Tiwa that I love you with all my heart and can’t do anything without you.” He said and ran away to cry in a quiet and lonely place. Tiwa cried like never before, like she won’t cry anymore.

I must say, that's really cruel of them. I was at the verge of showing my emotions before I masked it.

"You see why I was like that? friends betrayed me twice and......." Tiwa said. I feel her. I felt she has only shared half of her story. I don't judge her if she doesn't care about this world and puts them at risk because of what this world have done to her. Trust me, if I was the one, if I am told I can bring doom to this world and I can save it, I will choose dooming the world instead because it feels much better seeing the people who hates you suffer and beg for mercy at your feet. But then again, she has people she so much loves and care for also there are people who cares for her just as much as she does to them.All of her past friends are such a d**k. Now back to the situation on ground. I heard them bark at us.

We are surrounded by wolves.
