Chapter 4.

[ Aahleighs POV].

I was swept off my feet. And I mean that literally, one minute I was stood talking to Freya and the next I was lifted in the air and being spun around. I didn't even realise Freya had left and I didn't hear any of their conversation, mainly because my wolf Storm was loosing her absolute s**t in my mind screaming "MATE!" over and over again. I snapped back to reality when I realised he was looking at me.

"Hi" I said.. wow way to go Ash.

"My names Ashleigh"

"I'm Dean" he smiled at me.

Oh Goddess this is Freyas cousin, he's a Beta. My Goddess he is beautiful, platinum blonde hair, short on the sides and longer on the top and wavy, dark blue eyes, a jawline that could cut through glass. He was wearing a tight top so I could see his muscles through it and damn that body, I was ready to just melt into a puddle right now.

"So shall we sit and talk? Get to know eachother better?" he asked and I just nodded, I couldn't really find my voice at the moment.

we found a table no one else was sat at and he pulled out my chair for me to sit, what a gentleman. He sat down and turned to face me.

"So Ashleigh.. You're Freyas friend, so that means your from gold moon. Are you a ranked member?" he asked.

Oh Goddess he wants to know my rank, what if he doesn't want an Omega mate? jeez now I sound like Freya, well if he can't accept that I'm an omega and rejects me then it's his loss.

"Uh.. no I'm am Omega" I said with a smile.

"Ok cool, well not anymore obviously being my mate you will be the Beta female" he said smiling at me.

oh crap, I didn't think about that part. I have no idea what the Beta female even does, he must have seen the nervous look on my face.

"Oh don't worry my mum will help you and show you the ropes of being the Beta female" he said and smiled at me.

I've met his mum a couple of times when her and Owen have visited gold moon in the past

"How come you never came to gold moon with your parents before?" I asked him.

"To be honest... and no offence I went once when I was a teen and I found it so boring anytime they went I just didn't want to go along with them, obviously I regret that now cause I could have met you sooner" he said and kissed the back of my hand.

"How old are you?" I asked.

"I'm 22, you?"

I've just turned 20" I replied.

"Oh so not much of an age gap then" he said laughing.

"hey come on, let's go tell my parents the good news" he said taking my hand and leading the way to his parents, I couldn't concentrate on anything else apart from his hand holding mine and the tingles it was sending through my whole body. The tingles suddenly stopped and I realised he let go of my hand.

"Mum, dad I want you to.." he started but his mum cut him off.

"Oh Ashleigh darling" she said giving me a hug.

"it's so lovely to see you again"

"Hi Beta Sara, it's lovely to see you again too" I replied.

"Ashleigh how many times do I have to tell you to stop calling me Beta? Just Sara is fine dear"

"Sorry" I said with a small smile.

"Anywaaay.." Dean started again.

"Mum, dad.. Ashleigh is my mate" he said and put his arm around me and smiled.

"oh my Goddess, this is amazing news" Sara said clapping her hands. Owen gave me and Dean a group bear hug and I just laughed, then Luna Amanda came over to see what all the commotion was about.

"Oh what's happening over here?" she asked.

"Ashleigh is Dean's mate!" Sara beamed.

"congratulations sweethearts" and she gave us both a hug.

"I just hope Sam will find his mate soon" she sighed and gave Sara a side eye, like they knew something we didn't. I was going to say something when I saw Freya out the corner of my eye, she was just stood still staring at something. and then I looked where she was looking and saw a man staring back at her and from what Freya has told me I knew it had to be Sam, I looked back at Freya and a tear fell down her face. Sam walked towards her and grabbed her arm and started walking away with her, I went to go after them. But Dean grabbed my arm and shook his head at me.

"Don't worry" he said and left it at that, of course I was going to worry. Freya is my bestfriend and I was worried for her, if he breaks her heart I will loose my s**t.

"come on let's go get some more food and drinks" he said and grabbed my hand again.

I tried some of Freyas nans potato salad and Freya was right it was absolutely amazing, all of the food was. I felt so full, me and Dean talked some more and danced and had a lot of fun.

We were sat by the pool in a comfortable silence just enjoying eachothers company, until Dean broke the silence.

"So.. You'll sleep in my room tonight, we'll bring your stuff to my room tomorrow and then it's up to you when we'll go to your pack and get the rest of your stuff to move in" he said.

Again something else I didn't think through, I would be living here now. Leaving my pack behind, my family and friends. I let out a sigh.

"hey, you ok?" Dean asked me.

"Yeah I just didn't think about the fact that I would be living here now, leaving my pack and my family and friends behind. Specially Freya.. She's not just my friend, she's my sister and I can't imagine not being close to her" I looked up at Dean who was avoiding eye contact with me for some reason...

"What?" I asked him.

"Hmm? oh nothing"

"No, it's not nothing. There's something you are not telling me what it is?"

Instead of answering me he kissed me, I was taken off guard at first but the I leaned in to it. I had only been kissed once before by a boy at school and it was truth or dare and we were like 12 so thi was my first real kiss. It felt like my body was exploding, my lungs were on fire. One of his hands was on the back of my neck and the other on my face and the tingles.. oh my Goddess the tingles.

He pulled away when we both could no longer breath.

"Wow" was all I could say.

"Yeah tell me about it" he replied.

I lifted an eyebrow at him, I knew he was trying to distract me but it wasn't going to work. Freya is my bestfriend and if he knows something I am not going to give up until I know what it is.

"were you trying to distract me with that kiss?" I asked him.

"Cause it won't work, so tell me what you know" I said and crossed my arms.

"Fine" he said and threw his arms up in the air and let out a sigh.

"Freya is Sams mate" he said and looked up at me.

"What!?"

"Yeah, he midlinked me not to say anything to anyone so he could have a moment alone with her"

Now that I though back it was a while ago that I saw them.. And Freya was crying.

"Wait!" I said and stood up.

"Did Sam want to be alone with her so he could reject her?"

His eyes widened.

"What? why would say that?" he asked.

" because me and Freya were talking and I asked her what she would do if Sam was her mate and she said she thought he would reject her because she's just 'a Betas daughter' and wouldn't be 'powerful' enough for an Alpha I obviously told her she was being ridiculous... but is he rejecting her!?" I was feeling so angry I felt like I could shift in to my wolf at any second.

Dean held my shoulders and made me look at him.

"He's not rejecting her.. He's been in love with her for years" he said.
