Tested by Fate
Arohi felt like God was testing her.
Everything in her life had led to this moment—standing between two men, two loves, two paths. She didn’t know which way to go, and the weight of her own emotions felt unbearable.
That morning, before the sun had even fully risen, she quietly left the room. She needed air. She needed space.
She left a simple note behind:
"I’m going out."
When Ishaan woke up and saw the note, his heart sank. His mind immediately went to the worst possibility.
She went to Arjun.
His entire body tensed as pain shot through his chest. This trip wasn’t supposed to be like this. It was meant to be a getaway, a chance to celebrate their love—not a cruel test of fate.
Why did God have to punish him like this?
Just as he was lost in his thoughts, there was a knock at the door.
He opened it, and his heart nearly stopped.
Arjun.
“Where’s Arohi?” Arjun asked.
Ishaan’s eyes narrowed. “Isn’t she with you?”
Arjun frowned. “No. I thought she was with you.”
That’s when it hit Ishaan.
Arohi wasn’t with either of them.
The Search for Her
Panic gripped Ishaan’s chest. Without a word, he rushed past Arjun and started searching for her.
He checked the resort gardens. The poolside. The dining area.
Nothing.
His heartbeat pounded louder with each passing second. He called her phone, but she didn’t answer.
Then, finally, he saw her.
She was sitting by the beach, alone, staring at the moon.
A wave of relief crashed over him.
But as he walked closer, his heart clenched again.
She looked so lost. So broken.
For the first time in his life, Ishaan realized—he couldn’t stand seeing her in pain anymore. Not like this. Not because of him.
He sat down beside her.
For a while, they just sat there, the sound of the waves filling the silence between them.
Then, softly, Ishaan spoke.
“Go back to Arjun.”
Arohi turned to him, shocked.
Ishaan’s voice wavered, but he forced himself to continue.
“You deserve to be happy, Arohi. I’ve seen how much pain you’ve been carrying. If being with Arjun can bring back the love you lost… then go.”
Arohi stared at him, searching his face.
She didn’t say a word.
She didn’t move.
She just… stared.
Ishaan exhaled shakily, feeling his heart shatter into a million pieces.
He stood up, turned away, and walked off into the night.
A Heartbreaking Goodbye
That night, Ishaan sat alone in their room, staring at the ring he had picked for Arohi months ago.
A symbol of the love he thought they shared.
A symbol of the future he had imagined with her.
A future that was slipping away.
Tears burned in his eyes as he clutched the ring in his fist.
This wasn’t how love was supposed to be.
Arohi’s Final Decision
Meanwhile, Arohi found herself standing in front of Arjun’s room.
Her heart was pounding.
She knocked.
Arjun opened the door, his eyes widening in surprise.
For a moment, they just looked at each other.
Then, softly, Arohi spoke.
“Arjun… I can’t do this anymore.”
Arjun’s breath hitched.
“Our love… it ended a long time ago,” she said, her voice trembling. “I will always care about you, but I can’t keep hurting you… or myself.”
Arjun swallowed hard, his eyes filled with sadness.
“I wish things were different,” Arohi whispered.
Arjun nodded slowly, his gaze never leaving hers.
“I understand,” he said.
She smiled weakly, tears in her eyes. “I wish you all the happiness in the world, Arjun.”
He exhaled sharply, running a hand through his hair. “And I wish you find yours too, Arohi.”
With that, she turned and walked away.
The Morning After
When Arohi returned to her room, Ishaan was already asleep.
She lay beside him, staring at the ceiling.
She had made her choice.
Now, she just had to find a way to make peace with it.
The next morning, Ishaan woke up to another note—this time, from Arjun.
It read:
"She chose you. Make her believe in love again. I hope you both live a happy life."
Ishaan stared at the words, his heart twisting.
She had chosen him.
But deep down, he wondered…
Did she really choose him? Or did she just let go of Arjun?.
