Chapter 29

The long flight back to the USA was calm, the cabin lights dimmed as passengers dozed off. Arohi curled up against Ishaan’s side, her head resting on his shoulder, her fingers lightly gripping his shirt. She felt warm, safe, and utterly at peace in his arms. Ishaan glanced down at her, his heart swelling with love. He ran his fingers through her soft hair, pressing a gentle kiss to the top of her head. “Comfortable?” he murmured. She nodded sleepily. “Mmm… I love this,” she whispered. “Love what?” he asked, amused. “Being with you like this,” she sighed. “I feel safe.” His grip on her tightened. “You’ll always be safe with me, Arohi,” he promised. She smiled against his chest before sleep finally claimed her, lulled by the steady rhythm of his heartbeat. Back Home with Teddy After landing, they wasted no time picking up Teddy from Aman’s place. The moment they stepped inside, their puppy barked excitedly, his tail wagging furiously as he ran to them. “Teddy!” Arohi crouched down, laughing as the dog jumped on her, licking her face enthusiastically. Ishaan chuckled as he patted Teddy’s head. “Missed us, buddy?” Teddy barked again, his eyes shining with joy. Aman crossed his arms, smirking. “He’s been sulking ever since you left. I swear, this dog is obsessed with you two.” Arohi kissed Teddy’s head, rubbing his ears. “We missed you too, baby.” Teddy let out a happy whine, nuzzling into her touch before turning his attention to Ishaan, who laughed as the dog jumped on him too. “Alright, alright, I missed you too,” Ishaan said, scratching Teddy’s back. “Let’s go home.” Home, Sweet Home As soon as they stepped into their house, nostalgia and warmth washed over them. Their home—their haven. Arohi sighed happily, stretching her arms. “Feels good to be back.” Before she could take another step, Ishaan scooped her up into his arms. She squealed, wrapping her arms around his neck. “Ishaan! Put me down!” “Not a chance,” he smirked, carrying her straight to their bedroom. “I need my wife all to myself.” Her cheeks burned as he laid her down on the bed, hovering over her with a familiar intensity in his gaze. “Haven’t you had enough?” she teased breathlessly. He smirked. “Never.” That night, passion ignited once again between them. Ishaan was relentless, worshipping her with every kiss, every touch, every whispered declaration of love. They lost themselves in each other, their bodies entwined, their love deepening in ways words could never express. Long after they had collapsed in each other’s arms, Arohi traced lazy circles on Ishaan’s chest, her heart full. He kissed her forehead, whispering against her skin, “I love you.” She smiled, pressing a kiss over his heart. “I love you too.” The next morning, Arohi woke up before the sun had fully risen, stretching as she slipped out of bed quietly. She glanced at Ishaan, still fast asleep, his arm sprawled over her side as if reaching for her even in his dreams. Smiling to herself, she reached for the first thing she could find—his shirt, lying on the floor from the night before. It was oversized on her, the sleeves hanging past her hands, the fabric smelling just like him—warm, musky, and familiar. She buttoned it up lazily and padded barefoot to the kitchen, humming softly as she brewed coffee and started making pancakes. The scent of butter and maple syrup filled the air as she flipped the last pancake onto a plate. Just then, a pair of strong arms wrapped around her waist from behind, pulling her against a firm, warm chest. “Mmm… good morning, Mrs. Ishaan,” Ishaan’s deep, husky voice rumbled against her skin, his breath warm on her neck. She shivered as he pressed lazy, lingering kisses along her shoulder. “Good morning,” she whispered, melting into his embrace. He smirked against her skin. “What’s this?” He tugged at the hem of the shirt she was wearing. “Stealing my clothes now?” She giggled. “It was the closest thing I could find.” His hands slid under the fabric, resting on her waist as he nuzzled her neck. “You look way too good in my shirt, baby. Now I don’t feel like letting you go.” She laughed, turning in his arms. “I was making you breakfast, you spoiled man.” He pouted. “I’d rather have breakfast in bed—with you.” Arohi blushed, swatting his arm. “Eat first, then we’ll see about that.” Ishaan chuckled, finally loosening his grip but not before stealing another kiss from her lips. Just as he leaned in for more, a loud bark interrupted them. Teddy, feeling very left out, stood by their feet, wagging his tail impatiently. Ishaan groaned. “Seriously, Teddy?” Arohi laughed, kneeling down to ruffle the dog’s fur. “He wants attention too.” Teddy barked in agreement, nudging Ishaan’s leg. Shaking his head, Ishaan crouched down, scratching behind Teddy’s ears. “Fine, fine. But just so you know, you have the worst timing, buddy.” Arohi giggled, kissing Ishaan’s cheek. “Come on, let’s have breakfast before someone else interrupts us.” With Teddy happily trotting behind them, they sat down for breakfast, laughter and love filling their home—a beautiful start to their life together.
