RAFFDOL’S POV:
I ran as fast as I could to the front door. I had forgotten to leave my room window unlocked and I was way past the time to be home.
Panting heavily from what had just happened to me, I tried to catch my breath before entering the house.
As expected pops was seated right there awaiting my entrance.
“Evening pops” I said heading towards the stairs.
“It’s morning young man and where have you been?” Mr Murphy asked sternly.
“ I was out for a walk and lost count of time” I replied him.
“ you were out for a walk?” He scoffed “A responsible young man would always know time management, he would never move without proper planning” he said.
“What do you think your mother would say about this?” He asked .
Here we go again with the talk of me being an orphan. I was getting fed up of this whole emotional blackmail scheme. Ever since mom died I haven’t had an excuse to be human for the time I get to be. The littlest things question how my future would turn out, it’s either disappointing my mother or I’m not making her spirit at ease. But I wasn’t ready for any of this.
I had bigger problems, hiding a secret from my only family was one thing but being what they dreaded the most was another.
I couldn’t still comprehend how I became a werewolf. I have been cursed with this for the rest of my life. First orphaned at a young age and now I posses attributes that would make me loose my only family, this was indeed hard to digest, not to talk of my grandpa who already sees me as a disappointment what would he say about this when he eventually finds out.
He had been hunting for werewolves since when I could remember if only he knew one was right under his nose.
“Did you hear me?” Pops asked.
“Huh... sorry pops I didn’t get that”. I had drowned out what he had said; a skill I had acquired long before I got to this age.
“What is your plan? School starts Monday and I need you to remember why you’re there.”
“I don’t have a plan pops” I said to him
He scoffed “ you can’t go to school without a plan Raff, so you don’t have a team, a club or anything you would like to join?” He questioned me.
“I haven’t quite figured that out, I was hoping when I get there I’d know where I fit. Anyways; I’m really exhausted I have to crash now so, night pops” I said dismissing myself from his presence.
I hope he got the hint that I wasn’t ready to be where he was or with anyone, I needed space to think and comprehend all that’s happening to me. Things were getting beyond my control and these situations weren’t helping to solve them.
I had a cold bath when I got to my room. The feeling of cold water running through my body seemed to calm my nerves I hadn’t quite figured what tomorrow was going to bring for me. Maybe I’d live to see it or maybe my head would be next in line on a creeps wall.
FIRST DAY AT MIDDLE FALL.
Celia’s POV :
“Good morning darling” dad said beaming across the room.
I wasn’t in the mood, I just needed to get away from him and make friends I could use an excuse to leave his house.
“Hey dad” I said heading towards the fridge to grab a juice pack.
“How do you feel, today is your first day at middle-fall high and I’m sure you’d love it.” Dad said.
Of course I’d love it I had an entire plan.
“Can we just get moving already” I said heading towards the house door, making my way into dad’s truck.
Few minutes later, we had arrived at school.
I couldn’t miss this chance, this was my only shot at being a new me, if I messed this up I’ll live with it for the rest of the time I get to live here. My entire time in the car had me thinking and planning, how I’d make friends if I came across any in the hallway like I read in books or see in movies.
“You going in honey?” Dad questioned. This brought me back; I had completely lost track of reality.
“I’d be here at 4pm to get you honey. Have a wonderful day” dad said waving
“You too!” I replied him, and into the building I went. The school was huge, it was different from my school back at mom’s. It had something to it that seemed warm I could place my hands on it.
I was late for my first class, so I maneuvered my way to the principal’s office through the help of the janitor.
When I got there, there was a sign on the door which said : “ KNOCK TWICE AND THEN OPEN”
I did as it said and my opening prompted a greeting.
“Good morning ma’am” I said warmly.
“Hello, and you are?” She said with a huge smile.
“Cecilia Dalton ma’am” I said to her.
“ oh, I knew I couldn’t put a name to the face. Nice to meet you Miss Dalton, I must say you are quite the young woman, extremely beautiful” she flattered me I loved that.
“Miss Dalton please have a seat” she said motioning to the seat in front of me.
“Celia would be just fine ma” I said to her.
“Oh well, it’s with great pleasure to have you in our school Celia, could I please get your file?” She stretched her hands forward to collect the file from me. She inputed some things from my papers into her computer, after a few clicks I was guessing she was done.
“You’re all registered Celia and with great pleasure we welcome you to middle-fall High, where our priority is to make you feel at home. So with this I’d like for you to head over to the counselor’s office to have a word with her okay?” said the principal.
“Thank you very much ma’am, it does feel like I’d love it here” I said with a big smile plastered across my face.
I left the office and was directed to the counselors office. The same sign I saw early was also on her door, i did exactly as it said and on my second knock, it prompted a greeting;
“Good mor….” For absolutely no reason I found myself out of breath, I could not believe who I just saw or better yet what I just saw. The last time I remembered being this brain dead when when I encountered a werewolf, but this was different asides being brain dead I felt something in me, it was weird, I had never felt that way in my life. I had the sudden urge to check if I looked okay.
He sat there. His hair was rare, it was black with hints of silver strands on it, he was as white as milk, his profile gave the definition of a mini-god, dressed in all black, I have never seen black look so good all my life, maybe I was exaggerating but still he was sculpted perfectly.
“Hello, you must be miss Dalton?, please come in” the counselor said snapping me out my trance.
“Goo… good morning ma’am” I stuttered.
“Good morning, please do have your seat” I took the seat right next to him. His smell consumed me, he smelt like nature, his smell intrigued me to steal his shirt and pin it on my room wall. He was everything.
“Welcome miss Dalton” the counselor said.
“Cee…. Celia is just fine ma’am” I said clearing my throat.
“Well Celia, welcome to middle-fall High, we are happy and really excited to have you with us.” I gave her a light nod.
“We’ll I wouldn’t want to bore you both with long chats, if you have any questions regarding the school you can come to me I’m always here. But you’re here mainly for companionship”
My eyes balls bulged out of my eyes.
“Not that kind miss Celia, well in middle-fall high we have this tradition whereby we pair two students together to perform activities that grow the community, through volunteer work for individual or middle-fall at large. You are to be at the auditorium every Friday to find out what your task would be” she said.
“Well ma’am what if we do not want to be a part of this? Or we sort of don’t do it?” I asked .
“You fail. It’s a part of your CA it’s very important. Well luckily for you two; you both resumed the day day so you are automatically companions” she said.
“Companions as in we work together ?” I questioned her. I was stuck with mr mini-god here. I couldn’t believe it. How am I supposed to work with him. He has basically not said anything since i got into this office, I might as well fail.
“Mr lumpling, please do ensure to see me after school so we could discuss more” she said to him.
Lumpling? what kind of stupid name in that, I said to myself.
“Well it was great seeing you both I hope to see you more, if you have anything to share like I said I’m your girl, so do enjoy the rest of your day. “ this was her cue motioning us to leave.
“Mrs Carson you sent for me” a voice said from behind.
“Yes Iris please come in, you and Celia here are in the same program so please would you show her to your next class.” She asked.
“Of course ma’am” she said with a huge grin. “Welcome to middle-fall High, we are so happy to have you” she said with a warm smile. Everything was off but on the bright side I have someone to talk to.
The three of us left the office and I suddenly remembered I hadn’t exchanged contacts with “my companion” I called out to mr Mini-god who walked like he owned the entire school,
“Hey… wait up” I called after him with no response from him.
“Lumpling!” I shouted. That stoped him right on his tracks he gave me a death glare and I froze there out of fright. I had finally gotten his attention but I couldn’t find the words I needed.
“Umhm… since we were com.. companions I was wondering, sorry I was thinking, it would be a great idea to exchange contacts” I said to him stuttering.
He looked me straight in to my eyes my breathe seized.
