The Meeting

303 Words
When it came time for the meeting, both Shantell and David were shocked. It seemed like fate was in their favor. I find it fair to mention now that as a rouge, David never really believed that his mate was predetermined for him. He believed that you got to choose your mate. At that very moment he decided that Shantell would be his mate, or at least he would try and make her his mate. The introductions were made and all business was discussed before it was announced that a party would be held at the end of the week in honor of the alpha in training. The whole while, Shantell couldn't shake this feeling that something big would happen very soon. Her 18th birthday was in three days. She never really knew much about her birth parents and her new parents promised to tell her everything she wanted to know on her birthday. This is all she could think about during the meeting. She had so many questions and so little answers. She wondered what her parents looked like, what they smelled like, what kind of people they were, and more importantly, about her family history. For as long as she could remember, her body was different from any other child she met. Which she didn't get to meet many other kids anyway, being the daughter of a King and Queen and all. She healed faster than they did. Her spirit animal, a wolf, spoke and howled at her. When other girls talked about how that felt about a boy, she couldn't relate. She simply had no interest in anyone at all. She was beginning to believe that something was wrong with her. That is until she ran into David earlier before the meeting. Something about him made her inner self stir.
