"So?" I ask, pressing my lips into a thin line.
"So, stop it." Alice snaps, "You can stop it." She says softer, almost as if she were begging me. I would love to actually see her beg.
"If Jax sent you, tell him..." I inhale a deep breath, head tilting slightly as I peer into his mother's surprised eyes, "...Perhaps this will teach him that he isn't unstoppable, that he isn't God and that perhaps, after this, after losing half of everything...he will see what truly matters in this life."
"Do you mean you?" Jackie snorts, one brow raised as she stares me down. More like down at me.
"No, I mean kindness and selflessness and caring for other people." I say, glancing at Alice for a moment before looking back at Jackie, "Since your mother didn't bother to teach you those things." I shrug.
