"Of course we will, you were attacked. Were you not?" The cop asks. "You did nothing when people intruded into my house," I sneer, "And now their fans have attacked me!" I raise my voice. Sheila, the ever saint she is, rest a hand on my foot. My gaze snaps to hers and she offers me a soft look, a look that reminds me that I'm safe, that she'd be here every step of the way and help. "When was your house intruded?" The cop asks, pen ready to take notes. "Yesterday." I grit out. He writes that down. "Did you know who it was?" He asks. "My soon-to-be ex-husband's family, trying to convince me to not take half of everything he owns." I say bluntly, and damn, it sounded so bitchy. The cop nods. "Court order?" He asks and now it's my turn to nod. "Do you know why you were attacked today?"
