I tug on Ryder's arm, and his head tilts as he leans into me. "Why are there tables?" I ask. I swear I saw that it was just a damn social event. "Looks like they changed things up," Ryder shrugs, still smiling at everyone who passes, but the one thing I did notice was how he didn't bother with his politeness with the people who looked at me strangely. A slow clap comes from behind, loud and slow, giving the dramatic effect of a cartoon villan. Stupid me, turns and looks, only to find Aubrey, clapping, looking right at me. Jax is right beside her, not touching her, but still close enough to be comfortable, to be seen together. "Look what the security let slip in," Audrey tsks, shaking her head, her arms dropping as she stares at me with distaste. My jaw sets as I bite down on my teeth.
