**Arianna's POV**
"Arghhhh." I let out a shrill cry as tears streamed out of my eyes due to fear and shock.
I really hope I'm locked in a very eerie nightmare and once it's morning I'll wake up but this seemed real
The room was bathed in an eerie silence, the only sound my own ragged breathing. My voice echoed off the roof as I screamed yet again out of shock, unable to apprehend what was going on.
My parents aren't dead right?
The sound of rustling keys was heard as I stared at my hands in horror.
"Arianna, what have you done?" My eyes darted from my hands to my parents and back to him. He thinks I would do this?
"No, I didn't. I...I didn't...." I trailed off still shook when Marcus took a step closer, and I subconsciously shifted. "Don't lie to me, Arianna. I can see the guilt written all over your face."
I looked down at my hands, still covered in my parents' blood. I stood up with my eyes shut tight as I stepped backward. This was all too much for me to take in as I tried to take a peek at my parents body again.
My dad's face was covered in blood like he was stabbed there, my mom? I didn't want to look at her.
I approached Marcus and dragged his cheeks and when he winced, I was convinced that this was indeed reality.
I felt a sob build in my chest, but it was trapped, unable to escape.
"You're a monster, Arianna. You've killed your own parents." I wasn't even able to disagree but just started on in shock that overwhelmed me.
"How could you even believe that I would do this? I didn't do it." I finally found the voice to yell but he just turned away with a disgusted look etched on his face.
"You're going to pay for this, Arianna. You're going to pay dearly."
"Marcus, listen to me—"
"It's a good thing I'm on patrol with some of the pack Gamma's. Take her away." Marcus ordered and some Gamma's came trooping in as my eyes shone in fear.
"No! Let go of me, please." I begged as they dragged me away unwilling to listen to my pleas.
"I'm innocent,my parents were the one killed. You should be sympathizing with—" I felt a thump on my back that made me rear over in pain. One of the guards had kicked me with his boots In a bid to shut me up.
The pack's scaffold loomed before us, a ominous structure that seemed to whisper death.
As we approached, the pack members began to gather, their faces twisted in anger and hatred. They jeered and spat at me, their eyes blazing with a feral intensity.
"Why is no one listening to me?" I'm innocent." People were trooping me but no one paid heed to me.
"She is a murderer. If she isn't executed, who would be her next target." Different voices were muttering and I wished I could just go deaf so I don't have to listen.
"A murderer!"
I whimpered by the overwhelming pain that was stabbing at my chest. No one even tried to support me.
I was totally alone while whimpering from the places that I had been tied up prior to this moment.
And then, Marcus spoke, his voice ringing out across the scaffold. "Arianna, you have been found guilty of murdering your parents. You will be punished accordingly."
I stared around realizing how much I had been hated, how much everyone might have been anticipating this day. The single fact that the real murderers could be among the people throwing curse words at me made my blood boil.
"I didn't do it!" I screamed, my eyes scanning the crowd for a glimmer of doubt. "I loved my parents! I would never hurt them!"
But the pack members just jeered and spat at me, their faces twisted in hatred.
Marcus's voice cut through the chaos, his words like a death sentence. "Enough! The evidence is clear. You, Arianna, are a murderer. And for your crime, you will pay with your life."
I felt a cold dread creeping up my spine as the pack's executioner stepped forward, his sword glinting in the sunlight.
"No, please!" I begged, my eyes fixed on Marcus. "Don't do this! I'm innocent!"
But Marcus just turned away, his expression unyielding.
The guards closed in on me as they chained my hands together to a pole and sticks were thrown at me.
My hair stuck to my face due to the wet tears that were rushing down them.
The executioner stood in front of me and unsheathed his sword And at that moment, I thought of nothing at all.
"For the justice of the people, for the lives you took, you are sentenced to the sword today Arianna." Ever since I was a kid, I had heard that line affirmed over and over again but standing here and I realize that perhaps, a lot of people who had been killed on this scaffold had been innocent.
As the executioner's sword flashed down, Damon burst onto the scaffold, his eyes wild and desperate.
He knocked the blade aside, and I felt a momentary reprieve from death.
"Before anything else happens, I need you to know that I didn't sleep with Diana. She drugged me!" he pleaded, his voice cracking with emotion as he stood in front of me while the whole pack quietened down.
"You expect me to believe that? After what I saw? You were with my sister, Damon. I saw you with my own eyes. Don't insult me with your lies." I laughed maniacally and looked down, unable to bore into his deceitful eyes.
Damon's face contorted in anguish, but I didn't care. I was beyond caring.
"Please, Arianna, listen to me," he begged, but I shook my head.
"Out of the way, Damon.
Damon stood his ground, his eyes locked onto mine, but I just turned away. I didn't want to look at him, didn't want to see the lies in his eyes.
"Go, Damon," I said, my voice cold. "Leave me to my fate. You've done enough damage." I silently prayed to the moon goddess to give me another chance. I needed it so badly.
My parents were murdered for nothing and I've been betrayed and accused, just one day.
With that, the sword slashed through me!
