"You heard me," I replied. "What's going on between you and her? You've been a little too protective of her lately."
"Is it a bad thing to be nice and respectful of a woman?" he asked. "Or is it so strange that I'm being respectful and nice?"
"It isn't," I replied. "But it definitely isn't normal either. You especially don't like girls that much. Not after your last one left you when she realized you aren't interested in your father's wealth. You've never been the kind of guy to be a nice gentleman so all of this is unexpected.
