CHAPTER 6

SANHIA POV

We are now preparing our next project, for almost five years that we’ve been doing this, tonight’s project is one of the hardest since the wrong move we will all end in jail.

Bernards ancestral house in Calamba is one of the finest and wealthy places in the country, that is what we found out since it holds the most expensive kinds of things, jewelry, antiques, furniture and a lot more.

People even believe that at the bottom of the house has a secret chamber where all the gold and silver are being kept,

It was originally named “Anita Rosas Ancestral house” but was being renamed when Ms. Samantha Rosas get married to the sole heir of the Bernards Family in France.

Anita Rosas was Ms. Samantha’s mother; they believe that the ghost who roamed around the house was Anita’s spirit.

Even the rumour says it has all the kind of wealth in the world, no one dares to stole from it since aside from the spooky rumoured, the surveillance and technology system of the house is strict and hard to hack.

Even Jhonny failed to hack the locking system but at least the cameras and surveillance around the house.

I carefully planned the attack tonight; all the details are what I considered, right now, all we need to do is to manage our time safely and surely.

Dad and Mom already visited the ancestral house; they act as the exorcist society team, the good thing upon going there, they get information about the locking system.

One I have learned from my parents is to become a good manipulator, after what happens to Dad’s work, we suffer a lot, we almost live under the bridge but they didn’t let that happen, they learned this kind of life and so far it really works.

We may scam and steal from people but at least we never hurt anyone or kill someone.

Everyone has the right to have a good life, humans are bound to be always in survival, so what can we do…. This is a survival of the fittest! Only those who want to live will have a life!

It took us an hour and thirty to get to Calamba Laguna; at the back of the house, we place our van.

“Mom and Dad, both of you will be at the back, Jhonny you are on the right side in the kitchen, and I will be at the front door” I explained and they all go to their position.

Each of our cellphones has the access to the surveillance camera of the house, Jhonny fixes it for us.

It is now 9 pm and I can see that the old woman already head her way to the first room on the first floor, Jhonny will be the one to go there, upon she enters the room, the body temperature detection is already activated, and the green light at the door becomes red.

“Jhon, stand by, any minute she will get out soon, make sure your way in the room,” I said

“No worries, I can handle this,” he said.

Then we already hear some footsteps of an old man walking towards the second room near the kitchen.

I can see my Mom preparing herself to get in once the old man gets out; my Dad will be the lookout on the outside.

It took 5 minutes and the old woman get out of the room, three steps walking away from the room and Jhonny was about to enter the room when I stopped him.

“Jhonny wait!” I said and Jhonny was stunned as I stop him

“She left something inside! She will be back again!’ I said and I was right she quickly heads her way back inside as she left her cellphone.

I saw earlier that the old woman is holding something, at first I didn’t know what it is until there is a light and when she gets out without even holding something I knew that she left it inside.

After she gets her cellphone, Jhonny hurriedly gets in and does what he needs to do.

Then my parents also have their way into the second room, they also are the ones to go to the third room,

“Mom, the checking of the rooms takes 8-10 minutes you only has seven minutes for the third room” I reminded them

“Don’t worry sweety, we know exactly what we should do, I already discuss it with your Dad, right Honey?” Mom said

“Of course, we already have a great plan on that!” Dad response

Then the old woman is heading to the fourth room and I just placed myself beside the big jar furniture, it is actually a good blind spot for the fourth room.

“Sanie, the old woman only takes four minutes of checking, carefully get in coz that room is the master’s bedroom, they said that the Rosas ancestral golden watch is placed there, it is kept behind the big painting at the top of the headboard,” Jhonny said that somehow excite me

“ Thanks, Jhonny! I like that news! Don’t worry I got this” I said

“Just be careful sweety, we just get out of the third room we will be waiting for you outside,” Mom said

“ Yes Mom, this will be quick no worries!” I proudly said then head my way into the room when the old woman gets out.

I check the time and it is already 9:45, I only have 15 minutes to finish my job and get that dashing watch!

I was about to walk towards the room when suddenly I felt something weird, I feel like I saw some light moves from the library, I try to quickly look for it so I walk a little to sneak a peek inside but I didn’t see anything then I heard another footstep and movement from the staircase to the fourth room.

Even I don’t really believe in ghosts, after what happened to me on our last project, it convinces me to somehow acknowledge their presence.

I quickly walk towards the fourth room and it is so dark inside, I try to see the ghost who just made a move to the stairs up to here in the room.

It is indeed dark and I can't even see some figure that would prove to me about the ghost, I was about to walk towards the bed which I can somehow see since it has a light colour of beddings.

My goal is to get near the headboard but I was shocked when I stumbled onto something and I landed on its top.

When I open my eyes, I was shocked that a real person is what I am looking for now! s**t!

Then her hand quickly roamed around my body even into my breast! Damn it!

“You are a woman! Who are you b***h?” she suddenly burst out, I was about to get up and run away when she holds my arms and pulled my hair.

Shit, this is insane, I need to get out from her arms and so I position myself in front of her when I strongly hit her by my head, she quickly detached her arms to me.

I quickly run towards the main door, since it is already eight minutes before ten, I run my ass out of the house and Jhonny was on the fence waiting for me so I grab his hand and jump, I was about to jump going out when she throws me something that I luckily avoided but it hit my mask that covers my face so I turn my face away then quickly jump from the fence.

“s**t!!! Who was that woman? I didn’t hear that there will be a woman there left!” I burst out to all of them when we all got home

“I did check on every detail but it never gives anything about the woman staying there!” Jhonny said

I try to think who might be that person when I remember something when I enter the office again; they are now talking about the rude attitude of some daughter that I don’t even know, s**t! That I missed!

So when I get out of the office, they were talking about that woman that might be Bernards’s daughter, yes! It is! She can in and out of the house like usual since it isn’t 10 pm yet but, she chooses the master’s bedroom since she is the daughter of the actual owner of the house!

Damn it! I don’t know if she recognizes me though there is a high possibility that I am not, still I hope I won't see her again!

I just enter my room having the regrets of not getting that watch! I totally messed up and I hate it!

I lay down my bed still hating myself when Mom knocks at the door

“Come in!”

“Here, drink this milk, it will relax your mind” she calmly said

“Thanks, Mom”

“You see, we just want to say sorry for having this kind of life, when we were thrown away back here in this country, we don’t know how to take care of you until we have come up to this, and so far we take care of you well and your siblings, I know we don’t have that luxury life but as long as I know that you and your brothers and sisters are safe I am already satisfied, so the point is, don’t regret it, we do mistakes sometimes and it is normal,” she said while caressing my hair

I rested my head on her lap and I didn’t know my tear is now showering my face.

On that part, my eyes closed and fell asleep.

“Beeezzzz…beeeeezzzz”

I was awake by the vibration of my cellphone so I checked on it; there is a message from my boss.

“Be here on Wednesday early, there is something I need to discuss with you, and I also have a visitor to come.” – Boss Alfred

I almost forgot I still have work to do, it is almost 2 am and my boss is still awake, amazing!

Mr. Alfred Sebastian a 63 years old man that helps me four years ago, hired me as his secretary even I don’t have any proper educational background to offer.

It is the time when we are doing the fussy thing again, I mean scamming people, our plan that time is to get some money from the rich people who stayed at the heritage hotel, I act as a secretary of my Mom who pretends to be the owner of a certain insurance company.

Mr. Sebastian is not part of our target though accidentally we were entangled to him, he was with that rich woman whom my Mom already persuaded, and any minute that time, she will about to say yes to us when Mr. Sebastian came and talks to her.

We can't just let it go, we came too far to give up so we need to do something to get her attention, my Mom acts like she is scolding me coz I am not a good secretary, we create commotion until she faces us again, she talks to my Mom and that moment Mom already know what to do next, they talk inside her suite and I was left at the hotel’s restaurant.

Then Mr. Sebastian came up to me, talks to me and being nice to me, he offers me a job, at first I am hesitant to accept it but when Carl and Jena need money for their tuition, It leaves me no choice so I became his secretary even I still has this guilt over his kindness to me.

Damn! That was a long time ago, I thought working for him would at least support our everyday expenses, but it didn’t that is why three months after I was hired as a secretary, my parents build this kind of scamming business that so far makes our life a little better.

I woke up as early as I should be coz today is Wednesday though I just enjoy my resting day and two days leave, usually, I woke up at 6 am but right now, my eyes are already open even it still 5 am…maybe my mind is just prepared for the discussion with my Boss later.

I fix myself and finish at exactly 7 am, I get to the office at 7:30, I still have some time to relax then the Audit department calls me for an urgent matter so I head my way there.

The audit head just gives me the GAR or Gross annual report for Mr. Sebastian so after that I quickly go back to the office.

Mr. Sebastian texted me that he will be here within 15 to 20 minutes so still I have a few minutes to relax.

I was reading the report when entering the office, I sit back at my table when someone speaks which startled me.

“You must be Uncle Alfred's secretary, well, get me a drink will you!” she said that makes me feel pissed; I mean who is she to just boss me around, though I recognize her, damn! She was the one I encountered last Sunday night, I need to relax or else she might recognize me, well I am not sure.

We have the throwing of words trying to make our own point; I don’t care if she is the daughter of a king! I can't let her treat me that way and telling me I have an ugly attitude which in the first place it is already drawn all over her personality.

I try to calm myself since I remember that Mr. Sebastian already told me about her, I just follow what she wants then try to shut myself up on my table then the two CEO arrives.

The three of them talk and discuss something when my boss calls for me.

I can't seem to face her again but what can I do, I need to do it, especially knowing that she will be with me in one week or two as her assistant and mentor!

I want to shout and let out my anger but I couldn’t sense it is Mr. Sebastian who requested what I respect the most.

My doom day is starting now! Damn! How could I deal with her for those weeks? Good luck with my life!!
