Misunderstanding

700 Words
A voice interrupted me before I could even say any word. We both divert our attention towards the person who interfered. It was him, the bodyguard. "She is Jayde? Wow, so you lied? For what reason?" He asked with an angry expression, glaring hard towards Jayde who stood confused at what's happening. ZAYAN'S POV. I saw him once again at the hospital as I usually come to visit Mr Garza. He looked different from before and as he stood right in the middle of the hallway looking towards me, my heart rejoiced. At last, he noticed me - the moment was short lived when I heard someone call his name. He pretended not to hear as he made me believe his name was Jayde. He looked more prettier from his side profile, his skin shone brightly under the light that gleamed through the hallway. I sub-consciously made my way towards him but before I could reach him, he took the hand of the girl and left. I followed them and stood behind the fire exit door and eavesdropped on their conversation until he said something. "Jayde!? She's Jayde? So you lied. For what reason!? I tried so hard to not get angry even though I already knew the truth. But a piece of me wanted it to be a lie and not that he was also one of my competitor, Mr Don's underling. The more I thought of it, the more I realised he thought I was that Jayde - but how? "Who is he? Is he the one that saved you?" Jayde asked as she took a glimpse of me. "Yes, he is one of the bodyguard." He muttered, facing downwards. "Why is he yelling at you then?" She turned with a deadly gaze towards me. In order for me to get him for myself, I decided to play the bodyguard and introduced myself properly to them. "I am Zayan," I calmly said. They both in turn did the same. The gaze between Sydney and myself was something none of us could explain. I realised Jayde kept looking back and forth between us. "Ahem! Ahem!", she interrupted - once again. Before I could do anything with him, I boldly asked if they were intimate partners. Sydney was eager to answer but Jayde spoke before he could. "Yes, we are". I was taken aback from the revelation and looked towards Sydney to verify if it was true or not but he said nothing. I was so pissed at myself for falling for someone who was already taken. After my mum left us 10 years ago for another man, I vowed not to fall like she did but here I was, trying to separate two people who were already in love with each other. I gave a crooked smile and turned to leave. As I came out of the door, Dave was already there with an ugly expression on his face. "Why do you look like that?" I asked forgetting everything that happened in the last minute as we walked towards Mr Garza's ward. "Do you believe her?" He asked, clearly indicating he heard everything. I stopped in my tracks and looked at him. " What do you mean?" I asked him. "Umm. He is an Omega, remember? He is a male Omega. Can he be with anyone else apart from an Alpha?" He implied. Everything began to make sense, it was a front. But I could not bring myself to accept that as the truth although Sydney said nothing to refute it. "By the way, how is Mr Garza's doing? When is he going to wake up? Also, were you able to reach Miss Garza, his daughter? When is she arriving from the US?" I asked continuously as we walked. "The doctor said he was fine but can't tell when he is going to gain consciousness. Miss Garza will be arriving by tomorrow. Should we arrange a car for her arrival from Heathrow? Or will we pick her up with the private jet?" He replied. "Take care of everything." I answered. It was indeed an unforgettable time with you, Sydney but I guess this is where the road ends. Goodbye!!!
