Rhey couldn't begin to understand, how a very promising day turned out to be a complete disaster. It all began with her father, Tommy, Michael, and lastly Alpha Nikolas himself. He confessed his strong feelings for her, but he refused to pursue her further because her mate was back. He was convinced that she and Tommy belonged together. Rhey had begged him to stay but the Alpha turned her down and it stung. It felt like a damn rejection, but she held her head high and accepted it in good nature.
Alone in her house, Rhey grabbed three, one-liter bottles of brandy. She knew it would take a lot to get drank and she was determined to. After she had gone to the trouble of preparing candlelit dinner and left to stare at her failed efforts alone, she felt letting loose was in order.
