The tension between Liam and Ariana had been growing, fueled by threats, secrets, and unspoken fears. But now, the time for hiding was over.
One quiet evening, after a long day of meetings, Ariana sat across from Liam in his private office. The city lights twinkled beyond the glass walls, but inside, the air was heavy.
“I have to tell you something,” she began, voice trembling slightly. “Something I haven’t told anyone.”
Liam’s gaze sharpened, attentive and patient. “Anything.”
She took a deep breath, gathering courage. “The night we… met. The night we spent together. There’s more to it than you know.”
He leaned forward, curiosity piqued.
Ariana’s eyes glistened. “I wasn’t just… caught up in the moment. I was running from something. From my family. From a secret I’ve carried for years.”
Liam’s brow furrowed. “What kind of secret?”
She hesitated, then finally spoke. “I come from a family with a complicated past. One filled with betrayal, expectations, and pain. I left because I didn’t want to be part of that cycle.”
Her voice cracked. “That night was supposed to be a fresh start. A chance to escape.”
Liam reached across the table, taking her hand gently. “Thank you for telling me.”
“But there’s more,” she whispered. “I’m scared that if the truth about my family gets out, it could ruin everything—for me, for the baby, for us.”
Liam’s expression softened, protective and fierce.
“We’ll face it,” he said firmly. “Together. No more secrets.”
For the first time, Ariana felt a weight lift. The truth was out, and with it, a new hope.
