She considered trying to cause an accident, but felt that with her hands tied, and Merchant's strength, he could easily handle such an attack. She tried desperately to work her hands free, so that she could leap from the car as they approached the city, but the binds remained tight. Her thoughts periodically strayed to her parents, and fears that they might already be dead. And there was nothing she could do.
