𝙲𝚑𝚊𝚙𝚝𝚎𝚛 18

We grabed some coffee that morning as we chit chatted.

He asked how Lily was doing, I responded that she is doing well now. Thanks to him.

He smiled as a response.

I rarely do compliment people or try to flatter them but here you go I guess.

We ended up talking for some time too. Time passed by quickly. Soon we bid each other goodbye since he had to go open up his clinic or his office whatever.

I returned to the shop that day and went on with my chores.

They all teased me that night. They all asked who that man was as we ate dinner. I try my best to keep my cool since I know they're just kidding.

I tell them he's the doctor I ran to when Lily got sick.

They all told me he's goodlooking and I should try dating him or something. They also pointed out that I was taller than him by a lot of inches. But they say it's fine these days.

Hmm. Dating. Never did I think of that. I don't even know what love feels like.

I just said yes to them and agreed with a feigned smile that night.

But as I lay in bed that evening with Lily cuddled beside me. I layed my arm on my head as I thought of it.

Love. I have no time for that. I'm not interested in it either. Yet I can't help but fantazise myself with someone too. What if I wasn't like this? What if I was normal? Could I have a family too?

Foolishness. I can't let that blind me. That's not my goal. I need to divert my mind to something else.

I got up and went to the sea. Looking at the waves and the cold wind. It was rather calm that night. I could still see the boats in the distance.

We all are trying to survive yet another day. I tried to go on walking just to try and forget some stuff that's clouding up my mind.

The next day I was on my way to go to my normal pick pocketing schedule. But then I notice a police car approach the shop.

I stood afar off trying to hide my face. I know that any moment now random stuff might happen so I should be ready to barge in and fight.

Soon they entered the shop and I rushed to the back door to try and see what was going on.

Thankfully I managed to get up to the room upstairs before they could. I grabbed Lily and took her outside the shop by jumping from the window.

I didn't know where to hide her, but then I remember Doctor Go. I know his clinic would be open, so I rush to his office while carrying Lily again.

I burst the doors open and I see his questioning expression again.

"No time to explain. I'll come back again soon. Watch her for me. Please."

I leave straight away. I know my roomates will need me. I run back as fast as I could. And I return just as the police were taking them to the car.

Unexpectedly, the same officer whom I stole from met my eye as he escorted my roomates.

He then shouted that I should stop. but I ran. I didn't want to leave them, but they also told me to go and run for my life and my freedom.

I wasn't gonna let any police officer get me so I left and went straight for the dock.

I had him chase me once again. My main goal is just to lose him and not kill him. I've decided to leave that part out for when I actually have a decent plan.

I decided giving him some sort of injury would make sure he won't get me today so I stopped and fought him on the dock.

I knew he had a g*n but that's not a concern. He tries talking me down saying he doesn't wanna hurt me so I should just go with him to the station.

I smirk before kicking him in the ribs from the side. He definitely felt that one since he fell to his side and sadly fell to the water after I turned my back.

I looked at the dock and it was empty. No sign of him. So I look around and pulled my best reflexes together.

I peeked at the edge to see him drowning and reaching out for help. I was hesitant and doubtful at first. What if he was just faking it? bur after a few more seconds I decided he wasn't and jumped in to yank him out of there.

I put him on the wooden planks of the old dock and left him since he was already in the surface.

I walked away.

"Th- thank you." He pants.

I turn back to him to see if he was already fine.

I get back to fleeing and soon it was dark at night.

I go to the doctor's office. Feeling gloomy.

Doctor Go saw my expression and knew I wasn't in a good mood.

"Hey what's wrong?" He asks in concern as I slump down to the waiting area chairs.

I stay quiet as I look at the wall with no thoughts at all. Or is my head too crowded with thoughts that I can't pick where to start?

Soon I told him what happened to my roomates and why I had to entrust Lily to him for a while.

He asks what I was planning to do and many other more questions which I didn't answer.

"Take me to your place. I'll see if it'ssafe for Lily there." I rise up and walk to his car after getting Lily.

He was so confused and shocked at that moment but I can't help but demand what the best is for my dear child.
