That afternoon as they all woke up from the sleeping. Most of them were complaining of the tiredness. I didn't feel a thing though. Training was much worse than this.
They all were surprized that I even cooked for them and I didn't look tired at all. I just told them I'm a light sleeper.
We all had early dinner together. Time passed again, and we all got bonded more. They all started making the place their own after a while. As I tried to learn the art of nails.
A week later, my guard was still up yet I was a bit more comfortable. They all love me since I can do all the chores and not complain.
They all don't ask me for rent, they say my cleaning and cooking is enough. And when I'm not cooking and they're all at the lounge area, I'm at our room excercising and practicing my skills.
I also found out that the girl I took with me actually has no name. She had just arrived to that orphanage.
I named her Lily. It's the only thing that goes inside my head. I still get second thoughts that I should have named her Mee-Ji. After my late best friend.
Sometimes I look at her sleeping beside me at night, and realize that with all the people that I've lost, I can't afford to lose her too. We've only been together for a little more than a week but I care for her already.
I'm scared that I'm being too attatched too her. But it feels good to take care of someone.
Everyday I meet different people, and I'm careful not to expose my true identity too.
Every night, I also get up to plan something. I still don't know what to do.
Every day I watch my burner phone if I have any calls from Doctor Jung, Yet I have none.
I'm conscious about all my time. I'm 25 now, I have yet 5 years but I'm scared.
I go for morning jogs at 5 am. The scenery always makes me feel calmer. It feels like a warm hug for me.
I may be made into this destructive killing machine but I have feelings too. No one is too tough in this world.
The breeze makes me feel like home. Just like the island where I came from.
That night, as I returned from my daily planning. I noticed that Lily had a burning fever, and she was shaking too.
I hurriedly wrapped her in a blanket and ran for it. Our roomates were all awoken by my dash, but I couldn't care more.
I ran and ran but I couldn't find an open clinic. I mean what doctor operates at 2 am?
I ran more, it was already far. I then saw someone from a distance. I asked him where the nearest doctor was located. But it was just my luck that he actually was one!
He hurriedly ran across the street from the waiting shed, then opened up his clinic.
He then set Lily at his table. Soon enough she was feeling better. After she got some IV fluids, her fever toned down.
I was worried sick on the waiting chairs. The scene of Mee-ji collapsing just fills my head.
He soon offers me a drink and his hankerchief.
I accepted the hankerchief but not the drink. I prefer not trusting anyone random yet.
He told me she just had a high fever and she'd be fine soon.
I only nodded and gave him my thanks.
I was about to get Lily but he stopped me. He grabbed my hand and I immediately threw him to the ground. He crashed down and I was shocked that I did that.
It's just that my reflexes made me do it.
I got down to his level and helped him up.
He was actually frightened of me but I kept on appologizing.
As he stood up he realized that I wasn't just normal.
He felt a lot of pain in his lower back as it was the first thing to crash to the ground.
I kept appologizing more and offered to clean up the place. He was doubtful at first but I reassured him that I was just shocked.
A few minutes in to the cleaning, he asked me where I was from.
I said Busan in a low voice. Hoping he won't hear.
His eyes widened and his eyebrows raised at it.
"Busan? but that's like a kilometer away?" He said in disbelief.
I told him that I used to run in school.
He bought the lie and told me that I did look like a runner.
This doctor was probably in his late 20's , with brown eyes and pale skin. Just the typical person who spends more time in his office than outside.
He was evidently sleepy. He was yawning from time to time.
I told him to sleep, since I could just watch Lily, but I guess he didn't need that since he was already dozed off.
I finished cleaning in soon. I had to sweep a lot of stuff on the floor and sanitize stuff.
I then sat beside Lily and placed my palm at her forehead to check her temperature. She was getting better.
I stayed like that for a while. Wondering what to do. Where to go next.
The people at the shop are probably wondering where in the world I am, I could just call them since the office has a telephone, but who is awake at 3 am back there? They probably just thought I went for a quick run in the middle of sleep.
Soon the Doctor woke up and introduced himself as Doctor Go Ji-wan.
I then replied.
"Liua. Nice to meet you. Sorry for that earlier."
He laughed it off and said it was okay. Though he would need to get his back checked because that fall was no joke.
