I look towards where the footsteps came from. I was nervous. I knew I had the ability to defend myself, but I'm just, scared. A small child, probably 4. She was hugging her stuffed bunny which looked pretty worn out. She was wearing a Blue baby doll dress, filled with bows and patches. Her hair was blonde, appearing to be glowing in the rays of the afternoon sun. My heart dropped. I was even shocked, but in honesty I was just too afraid. After all, I was used to having walls surrounding me and protecting me. I wasn't used to other people. I took a moment to regroup myself together. I then approached her. I was careful not to frighten her. I knelt down to her level. She watched me with such innocence in her eyes. I stared at her eyes, hoping I won't scard her. After all, I'm not here to harm her. Or am I? "You're pretty." She lifts her hands to my face. For the first time in such a long time, I had felt someone caress me. I felt wanted, I felt loved with such small action. She stroked my hair with her short and chubby fingers. I couldn't help but smile. I cupped her face with my hands. I then remembered that I needed to escape from here. Yet it won't be too long. I need to do it now. I wanted to bring her with me, she looked so much like an angel. I don't want her to suffer in that place. I know just running won't cut it, but I need to make up a quick yet accurate plan. I looked around me, there weren't other guards, or Cameras. This was my chance to escape. "The other people here will take you to an ugly place, I'll save you. Okay?" I try to convince her. I know for a fact that she was clueless about what was going to happen, but yet she still nodded. She trusted me, thay warmed my heart. I asked her to run into the forest, to go deep yet straight, and I'll find her. I didn't really know what else to say, so I gave her a hug. She ran off after that. It's really surprising how she follows me even though I'm a total stranger. A few minutes later, the other guards told me that we would go inside, to get the children. I told them I'd follow behind them, that I'd check if no one else is outside. They agreed, and left me. The sun was setting, I knew that the kid was already waiting for me. So I sneaked into the forest, and without a trace I left. I looked for her in the forest. Following a straight line. Soon I noticed candy on the pile of leaves that I stepped on. Soon there were more candy as I went in deeper. I collected them in my hand, and soon I found her, curled up beneath a tree. I didn't tell her to leave a trace, but I'm glad she did. I grabbed her and ran out of that forest like hell was chasing me. I was sweaty, but not tired. She was also very light as she clasped her body on to mine. We soon ran out of the forest. I knew the other guards were already notified of our absence and we're already dead meat if we get caught. We found ourselves in a small village, there were a few vehicles. Perhaps I could steal one and go to a near port, but not where the ship we brought docked. My only goal for now is to get out of this country or place or wherever this is. I found a motorcycle with keys in it still. I placed the child in front of me and off we went. The man who owned the motorcycle soon chased us. And then all the other people, including some police. I made the motorcycle go faster. I wasn't about to go to a police station jail. After a couple minutes of chasing, we lost them, yet it was running out of gas already. I tried my best to make it go further but that's just imposible. We stopped in the middle of nowhere. It was all tall crops and a long road ahead of us. I lifted her up to my arms from the motorcycle. The poor girl was tired already. I knew she was feeling drowsy. I carried her as I walked on the road. I found a small pathwalk that led somewhere. I feel like we would be safer here in the middle of nowhere. Time had passed and the moon was already above us, yet it was cuddled closely by rain clouds. I hope it doesn't pour yet, there's no shade here for us. I could still feel the g*n behind my jacket, along with some stuff from the bag the doctor gave me. I had smuggled another bottle in my jacket, it was thick so no one found it suspicious. I had a wallet full of fake ID's and some money too. I need to get out of here soon. We need to get out of here soon. I walked on for a few more minutes, the child was already asleep. I don't know her name yet, or anything about her... I finally found a small hut by the sea, it was vacant but it had a locked door which was easily broken. No one was around, so I figured we'd stay here for some time first. I set her down at the bed. While I rummaged through the stuff and looked out for the guards. We may be far from them now, but I knew we still weren't safe. The hut was filled with fishing nets and some clothes. I took a bag, and filled it with some clothes. It was mostly for men but it doesn't matter. I had gathered some money from there too. I grabbed all I could find useful, then stuffed it all in the torn bag I found. Tomorrow we would need to move again. If only I had a map of this place. I appologize for the typos or grammatical errors!?
