The ride into town was a little quiet, except for the noises that came from Ben’s one-man act show for Meri. He was getting very attached to her. I didn’t mind it. The twins would have someone of their kind to explain things that Ash and I couldn’t. That is, if Ash let him hang around for that long. Josh volunteered to drive and he did so in silence. I figured it was because I was the one seated next to him. If I had a choice I would have sat behind and enjoyed Ben’s show with Meri, but Maria insisted on it because of my bad back.
