Empty. I was forever empty.                                                                     “Why don’t you just go lie n***d in the snow?” “What?” I hadn’t noticed Ann was sitting beside me until she spoke. Her voice pulled me out of my daze. My mind had been completely preoccupied with the news that everything around me ceased to exist. “You are sitting outside with a giant ice pack on your back.” “Joe wants the bruise to disappear before Ash comes back.” I had moved to the back of the house and waited there for the guys to come back. After my check up, Joe joined them in the forest. He said they would be back after half an hour; I checked my watch, they were fifteen minutes late. “When is he coming back?”  “Soon.” I looked at my watch again. They were sixteen minutes late. “
