Chapter 38: It doesn't hurt to lose love, really?

1534 Words
Tommy blamed Nicolas Finn for being too stupid to be taken advantage of by Helena Kinghams as he walked. But when he suddenly thought of him and Aurora doing the same action, he suddenly blushed and got excited non-stop. He quickly went home, hiding in the toilet until half an hour later, then came out with a slightly tired look. All day, Tommy was so obsessed with images of Helena Kinghams and Nicolas Finn that he couldn't focus on anything. All his homework was put aside. He stayed awake until he was tired and lay down in sleep. Tommy held Aurora's hand and walked together on the alluvial beach with the characteristic yellow sand of Long Beach. He led her over large, sharp rocks. The two stopped on the sandy shore covered with the shade of green trees with roots deeply rooted in the sand. This is something that Tommy has never seen here because they often grow in muddy areas and almost none at the beach. Tommy couldn't stop thinking about this cork tree, but when he turned to look at Aurora, he was even more surprised because she was trying to pick a budding flower. An idyllic flower with immature blue buds and pistil has a characteristic purple-pink color along the length. Tommy saw Aurora's tiptoe, but in his heart, only happy voices rose up. He reached out and picked a flower and gently placed it in her hand. Aurora's faint smile scented with jasmine hair made him close his eyes to enjoy. Tommy's eyes slowly opened as the tip of his lips felt a little warm and soft. He saw a slight blush on his cheeks, his eyes were half shy and half inviting. Tommy didn't hesitate to approach, letting his lips touch Aurora's hair lightly. Early life vibes nourished by body heat and curiosity become a powerful catalyst for the two to rush into each other burning like a flame. This was exactly what he had longed for, trying to exert intensely the passionate emotions of the flame of youth. Her ragged breathing, trembling body and wet eyes created a reaction that burned their skin. And the waves surged to a sudden full peak. Tommy woke up, waking up hazy and sweaty. He felt some discomfort underneath his body. Tommy pushed the blanket aside, looked at his crotch, and complained without words. He surreptitiously went straight to the restroom to wash his own clothes and then sighed blaming himself for his lack of control. A sense of stupor rose up like a strange taste of shameful petty sins. That day, Tommy went to school but always avoided Aurora's gaze. She felt strange with this expression of his. When the school bell rang, she immediately appeared in front of the class to call Tommy to meet privately. The other students assumed that Tommy was messing around again and Nicolas Finn implicitly guessed that Tommy and Aurora's relationship was completely out of the ordinary, at least from Tommy's side. However, he did not want to ask any more questions because the guilt of facing Aurora every day was already too great. Tommy stood beside Aurora, pretending to cough to get her attention. Just as he wanted, she turned around and asked what she did wrong to make him deliberately avoid. Tommy didn't expect Aurora to go straight to the point like that. He hesitated for a long time, then suddenly said: "I don't want… don't want you to misunderstand." Aurora raised her eyebrows at Tommy: "Misunderstanding? Misunderstanding about something? Aren't we still good?" Tommy looked at Aurora and shook his head. "I don't want you to think our relationship is teacher and student… I like you." Tommy's words made Aurora stunned, she looked at him for a long time, then suddenly she was no longer aware of how things were around her. This is the first time she has been confessed to by someone else, but the object is so sensitive that she can't even imagine it. Aurora tried to regain her composure and smiled at Tommy, her face was both cold and terrifyingly distorted. The school yard was flooded with sunlight, and tiny tamarind leaves fell from afar like dust in the wind. Aurora took a deep breath that was enough for her to turn bravery into the kind of essential motivation she needed right now. Tommy still tries to keep an eye on Aurora, he waits for a satisfying reply but all she can give him is terrifying uncertainty. She said, "You know what? If at some point in the future I would be more than happy to think about your offer. But not right now. I just see you as a little brother. ." Aurora's smile was like a strong slap on Tommy's self-esteem. The student foolishly turned his back and ran as if he wanted to escape from reality. Aurora sighed as she watched Tommy's back tremble slightly, his chest heaving with a little fear. She felt that he was pitiful but she had no other choice. Aurora didn't want to instill a fragile hope in Tommy's heart only to disappoint him with it. Aurora thought to herself and left the school. She had just stepped out to the gate when she saw Helena Kinghams with Nicolas Finn. Aurora skimmed past both of them despite Nicolas Finn's shyness enough to make her laugh. For more than a week, Aurora and Helena Kinghams did not speak to each other, this is not the first time the two have fallen into this situation. The last time the person who was really at fault was Helena Kinghams and Aurora had to be the one to speak up. But right now, she didn't want that situation to happen again. At times, Aurora feels herself dependent on a toxic friendship with Helena Kinghams. She shouldn't have been tough on Helena Kinghams, but this time it was about Aurora's honor and she could not agree or give in to Helena Kinghams' brazenness. It didn't take Tommy to tell her how things had turned out, she'd already guessed from the attendance session at Helena Kinghams' class. That day, Aurora was both surprised and disappointed with Helena Kinghams' class because what she said on the podium, word for word, was in her outline and main idea. Of course, Aurora is the second in class so she can easily be seen as a 'copy' even though the reality is quite the opposite. And even if Aurora was first in class, no one would have thought that Helena Kinghams, the beauty queen of the department, would copy her lecture. Helena Kinghams' time in period one was Aurora's in second period, so she was completely passive. In the end, Aurora had to teach her class with a lecture 'like Helena Kinghams', although her class was better prepared, the class atmosphere was more bustling, but immediately, she was judged as a 'star' Copy'. Aurora did not make excuses for even a single moment. She didn't show any emotion when people talked about this matter. However, she still heard whispers somewhere from her classmates about her attitude and personality. Aurora is not unfamiliar with these things, on the contrary, easily adapts to them. The line between trust and suspicion is so thin that we can sometimes get confused. Returning to reality, Aurora had left the school but received a phone call from the teacher's teacher - the head of the Literature department. The Head Teacher informed Aurora that there are parents living in who want to sponsor a group of students to go on a free tour. Of course, Aurora had to show up properly, so she couldn't refuse at all. Aurora finds herself extremely resentful because she has to obey everyone's wishes. Right now, she just wanted to go back to her motel room, curl up in bed, sleep until the next morning, and spend the entire weekend eating and sleeping. Although she is very happy with the kindness and affection of a certain parent, these tours, which she considers 'nonsense', are never on Aurora's to-do list. But before the 'order' of the teacher, Aurora could not have the opportunity to refuse, in the end, she had to 'happily' accept. That night, Tommy locked himself in his room, not talking to anyone. He tried to think about the ultimate cause of where he had gone wrong. But the more you look, the more you can't find it, the more you think about it, the more you get stuck, Tommy sighed in vain and then blamed all the blame on Mr. Joseph because he was the one who encouraged him to pursue Aurora. But after seeing it clearly, he realized that he was too hasty. Tommy begins to panic thinking that Aurora will alienate him. All of his plans have gone up in smoke. He fell into contemplation like those lost in a whirlpool. It wasn't until Mr. Joseph and Lana called out to Tommy to have dinner that he moved bit by bit with a haunting face that surprised the two of them. Lana was the first to say: "Why does her face look like she just fell in love?"
