Take me to San Francisco

Chapter 3: Welcome

I woke up in a dark plane. It was dark outside and I could see a stranger sitting next to me. This is freaky were am I. Oh wait I remember. I saved a rich guy who owns the most popular and biggest company in the whole world, Ego. His name is Cole Darling and he offered me a job in San Francisco. I’m not sure what my actual job will be but I believe it will be good and I know this because he offered me $1550 a day plus tips. I realized then that we must have boarded a plane and are heading to San Francisco. Seems everyone is asleep besides myself. I feel really alone right now and I’m nervous about what will happen in the future. As I was deep in thought the loud speaker on the plane turned on and the captain started speaking.

“Hello passengers we have entered California and will be landing the plane in 10 minutes. Thank you” he yelled through the speaker then hung up. It was so loud that people groggily woke up and loud groaning and sighs erupted from every part of the plane. I saw Cole start to turn than he looked at me and sat up and cleared his throat.

“Hi Amanda, um how was the flight” he whispered as he adjusted his tie.

“It was okay” I whispered back groggily “Wait, if your the richest person in the world why didn’t we ride a private jet or helicopter.”

“I felt like you would feel more comfortable if we rode on a normal plane like everyone else. Now get ready we will be landing in a minute in LA.” It was really awkward after that and we didn’t talk until after we got all the way outside of the airport with our luggage.

“Looks like we made it in one piece with no murders in sight this time” I joked and he smirked before pointing out a black van that was here to pick us up and outside waiting for us was a large buff man with sunglasses and also a fancy suit.

“Welcome back sir and welcome to LA miss” the man said gesturing for us to step into the car. Cole let me in first than hopped in and sat down next to me. The man shut the door walked around the car and off we went through the road with blaring lights along the way. Eventually we got on a highway and traveled quickly across. Then I noticed the sun rising and had a beautiful sunrise and then I noticed it. A large spanning city ahead of us shimmering with lights and tall buildings. I could only assume it was San Francisco. I stared in awe until I snapped back into reality when Cole said

“Amazing right. It’s beautiful no matter how many times I see it” I looked at him for a moment as he turned back to look out the window. I was amazed by his charming words. I felt something flutter in my stomach then settle down as we got deeper into the city. I stared as we passed many buildings and eventually I spotted the ocean, shimmering from the sunrise. We turned around a corner and I couldn’t see it anymore but it was fine cause there are lots of things to look at. I then spotted a massive building a few buildings down and realized it said in giant metallic letters on the side “Ego” I was surprised to see such a big tower and it was definitely bigger than all the other buildings but what would you expect from the guy who owns Ego. We pulled up to a large door in the building and the bulky man rolled down the window and inserted a card into a machine next to the car causing the doors to open. The car rolled into a huge parking lot and we sped to the other end. The driver stopped and let us out then drove off to what I would assume to be parking somewhere. Cole led me to an elevator close by and we stepped inside. The elevator was made of glass and I could see the the building was used for his business. Hundreds of people where sitting in chairs on multiple floors working on the computer and others where people talking on phones. As we continued up I noticed there was a pool, a bowling alley, and a movie theatre on one floor and a cafe, a lounge area, and a snack bar on another. Eventually we reached floor 100 which I assumed to be the top floor. What was odd was I couldn’t see what was in the room because of a large white panels. The doors opened and I stepped inside to see a large penthouse.

“Welcome to my home Amanda” he announced as he to stepped inside.
