Salome Sue Richardson couldn’t remember where she was for a moment, but as she looked around, she realized she was sitting next to her daughter’s hospital bed in the middle of the night. She was overcome with sleep, and after the busy events of yesterday evening she still had a strong sense of chaos in her head. She spontaneously reached for her third finger, but she calmly acknowledged that she wore her wedding ring. She turned it over three times, as before, for luck.
