Jordan stayed until the guests had left so he could spend as much time as possible with April. He was helping wash and dry the dishes with her while Penny bathed the children and got them ready for bed.
“I think we had a great cookout today, and it was very beneficial for Chris, don’t you think?” Jordan asked.
“Absolutely, it was wonderful that he was able to remember his parents, his brothers and sister and his cousins from his childhood. That was a huge improvement, right?” April asked.
“Sure, sure, and I feel that is just the beginning. Those memories will start flooding back to him I’m sure. Like maybe certain sights, sounds, smells might trigger certain memories. I’m sure it won’t be long until it will all come back to him,” Jordan said, feeling sure about it.
The children came running into the kitchen all clean and clad in their pjs. April dried her hands and dropped down on her knees, hugging each of them.
“Goodnight, Uncle Jordan,” they all told him as he also got hugs from the three.
“Goodnight, guys. Sleep well. Have nice dreams,” he told them.
“I not a guy, I a gwirl,” Angel corrected him. April and Jordan laughed at the sweet little blue eyed blonde.
“You are a girl, that’s right! In fact, you are a princess. Princess Angel, what do you think of that?” Jordan told the child, lifting her into his arms. Angel smiled and nodded, giving him a kiss on the cheek.
After they had gone to bed, Jordan told April that he needed to leave since the family was getting ready for bed.
“Let me tell Chris and Penny goodbye and you follow me out to give me a goodnight kiss, okay Sweetheart?” Jordan asked.
April smiled and nodded, feeling more comfortable with her boyfriend after their day together. The two held hands as Jordan went to speak to Chris and Penny.
“Happy Easter you two. We are going to Sunday school in the morning at April’s parents church and then joining them for Sunday dinner after. But tomorrow evening, my friend, I’m taking you to the airport to see if we can spark more memories, okay?” Jordan asked hugging Chris and patting his back.
After complimenting Penny on their reunion and giving her a hug, Jordan led April outside to the porch. He led her over to the porch swing and sat down beside her.
Putting his arms around April, he brought her into his chest to hold her close. Caressing her face, Jordan spoke sweet words to April as she lay back gently in his arms.
Jordan opened his mouth and began to dance his tongue seductively around hers. She tasted of cinnamon candy, and he enjoyed kissing her more than anything.
“I don’t want to leave, but I’d better so I can pick you up in the morning. Do you know how many years it’s been since I’ve been to Sunday school?” Jordan asked, grinning at April.
“Since you were a kid?” She guessed.
“That’s right. I was twelve and went with my grandmother to Easter service,” he told her, remembering the day.
“Is your grandmother still living?” She asked.
“She is. She is 88 and spunky as can be. I have a tough time keeping up with her,” he said, laughing.
“I will take you to meet her someday soon. She will love you,” Jordan said, caressing the side of her face.
“One more kiss, Pretty Girl,” he told her, pressing his lips to hers.
“See you at 9:30 in the morning, My Angel,” Jordan said, standing as he let go of her hand.
April waved to him as he got into his Ferrari, already missing him.
